New inhaler

Hi docs today stopped my regular inhalers and given me Anoro Ellipta. Anyone else have this . Advice please. Spirometer text booked as well. Thanks in advance . Apparently steroids can dampen your immune system . She thinks this is why I’ve had 3 exacerbations since Christmas !

Thanks RedSox , that’s helped, always good to know someone else is on it and it seems ok. 😉

I was on it for years. No problems whatsoever but now changed to Trelegy which is Anoro plus a steroid.

It seems to be very popular with the medics - perhaps because it is a DPI & hence less environmental impact as well as performing well?

It’s ok although I think I may have been better on Anoro plus budesonide but time will tell!

I have been on it for about a year and no problems. I try to stay away from any with steroids. I'm a stage 2 plus and have been this way for several years. To be honest this is my 4th inhaler. I just don't notice much difference going from one to another. In fact aside from my rescue (pro air) I don't notice any improvement but will keep trying as new ones hit the market. Guess something is working as my COPD has not advanced. Good luck

Hi,

I took Anora for about 3-4 months and it affected my stomach, really badly. It wasn't bad on breathing, but I prefer Spiolta.

Can you tell me how it effected your stomach? My doctor just gave a two week sample of Anoro to try. I am trying it because of the acid reflux I get from my current inhaler.

Thank you

Hi,

I had mild stomach pains to begin with, but within a period of about one month of taking Anora I developed really bad, sharp, stomach pains/cramps and my stomach became bloated - very noticeable, as I am very slim. It also caused me to put on weight, which in itself was not a bad thing, but it was abnormal as the weight gain gave me the appearance of being pregnant, as opposed to being spread all over the body. As soon as I stopped taking it, the pain went and my flat stomach returned within a few weeks.

I hope this helps.

Thank you

Hi. About 4-5 months ago my respiratory team gave me Anoro Ellipta. It changed my life, almost overnight! Before I could barely breathe, couldn’t even walk to the loo withoit gasping for breath. The next day I felt so much better and 3 days later I actually went shopping. Really hope it works as well for you.
