I have candida in my osepheagus, showed up on my endoscopy last week. I had lots of abs end of last year, 6 weeks in total which i am sure is the culprit as i had it in my moutnbut the daktarin took it away from there.
I am cutting out sugar, as much as i can, no chocolate, biscuits etc and no carbs. Drinking some lemon juice in warm water, herbal tea and plain water.
I am having aloe juice once daily and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar mixed with water once a day, having yakult everyday and taking a probiotic capsule too.
Any other advice? Wondering if anyone else has had Candida anywhere?
Im seeing the cons in 3 weeks so i will ask about it then and see if I need any antifungel meds for it too.
I hope this doesnt last too long, its pretty boring theres not much on the menu right now! Although even after I will still lower my sugar intake as I dont want it back.

It's a good start Shancock. I mentioned I did it for three months a few years ago. Yes it's boring to begin but you get used to it and also become very aware of what you're putting in your body. Fruit is also high in sugar and the carbs we eat turn in to sugars. I have to say that I felt fantastic then, skin, hair general health and loads of energy.
When I was looking for good pre and probiotics on Amazon years ago the reviews on them were really interesting, pages and pages of them from customers.
Its the low sugar one, i use i was told to cut down on sugar as much as possible but yes its hard to completely as its in so many thjngs!
Ive stopped fruit, just a green apple or berries as theyre low in sugar. Ive been adding lemons to my water. Im not keen on carbs anyway i prefer sweet potato, cauliflower rice, quinoa etc as alternatives.
Im sure it will really help me but it is a bit dull. We are going out at the weekend and im gonna be the one with the boring meal!
I am going to have a gin and tonic though! I think a little alcohol once a week should be allowed! After all if were alive we need to live!
You know lots already! Good for you, I think the trick is to make everything as tasty as possible. Lemon juice, fresh herbs, spices, garlic and ginger.
I was recommended to eat plain yoghurt a couple of times a day.....but maybe that's not suitable for everyone .... dairy or even soya can be difficult for some to tolerate.
I'm on a similar diet for Lent as I try to control my raised blood pressure by losing weight. I follow a very low calorie diet in a 2 week block and then go into a maintenance phase (where sweet carbs are still restricted to avoid putting all the lost weight back on).
There's lots of choices for food. In my fridge at the moment are various salad vegetables, plus I've made a chicken and vegetable soupy stew which I will brighten with a few spices, and a liquidised broccoli and cabbage soup. I make traditional stews with potatoes in and meat and 2 veg for my husband and just have the meat and veg myself. When I go out I can usually request vegetables and/or salad instead of bread, potatoes, rice etc. And you can make lots of meals with eggs, tinned fish, a little cheese.
Yes that sounds good. I did a mediteranean stew the othe night an just had extra veg no pots. I also love eggs, so tonight having a salmin, brocolli and spinach omelette.
The carbs dont bother me, but i will miss my chocolate.
I was gonna try almond milk with my muesli.
Im bit worried about losing weight as im only 8 1/2 stone, i dont want to be smaller and my blood pressure is lower than average.
If you need to maintain your weight on a low carb diet, eat more protein foods and add extra fats to foods, such as oil to fry the veggies to start a soup, salad dressings on salads, full cream milk rather than semi-skimmed, etc. Keep to the healthier oils if possible.
Candida in eosphogus would require prescription meds to elimate it. The low sugar etc way of eating is good to prevent but not cure it. Good luck it's a bummer.
Yes im seeing the specialist very soon so im sure he will prescribe something then. Its obviously only very small as i didnt know i had it so no symptons, it did say on the endo report it was a small patch.
Fluconazole or it’s equivalent can be bought from any chemist as a single capsule. £5 - £10 each depending on the chemist you use.I have to take one after every course of antibiotics. After the last course of abs I had a fungal lung infection and my Gp prescribed me another 4 tablets.
I have a 99% healthy diet...and use two things to control Candida.
1. A regular mouthwash rinse of 2-3 drops of Tea Treel oil in a glass of water. Rinse, Gargle and Spit. Definitely do not swallow as it isn’t to be taken into the body.
2. Use kefir every day. Yes it is made using sugar but the level of probiotics saidto he in it good!!
