Running nose

I am currently on liquid oxygen and I keep getting the most awful runny nose as if I have the worst cold I have ever had. It's making me feel quite awful and I wonder whether any has experienced this and found an answer to it??

I'm on ambulatory oxygen and I have exactly the same problem. Wish I could find a solution to it.😊 Bernadette xx

Hi Bernadette

I have spoken to my respiratory nurse this afternoon and she has suggested a mask instead of a cannula and also steroid nasal spray. I am going to see my gp in the morning to discuss .will let you know how I get on if you like. 🤔x

I am just the same plus a lot of sneezing

Same here Poppy, and all, Constant dripping of the nose and Sneezing. I put it down to Carbocistiene which makes the Mucus in Lungs Liquidise. and then the cannula, which The oxygen keeps me Going, I Have had Both meds since 2013, I am still here, in fact I feel so much Better with Exercise and Life it's self, I just buy extra boxes of "Mansize" Tissues and have got used to the cannula, I did try a mask, I felt Stifled with it on. Hope you get sorted Hun. My "Colds" come and go so quickly in one day, I bought a nasal Spray which Helps. Good Luck Hun. xxx

Got the same problem but it comes and goes also I a finding the oxygen I am on 6llts 24/7 dries my nose out I find vick helps with that

Yes,I suffer as well and believe it is very common if you are using a cannula all the time of even just when needed. It's called post nasal drip.....lovely name isn't it?😤 My LC suggested a nasal spray which I think Hacienda spoke about too. I'm just used to carrying !ot's of tissues with me and in the morning times,when it's at its worst,I spend a good 30-45 mins trying to clear both sides of my nose! 🙉 Sorry,probably too much information there!
