Wish I knew the answer, hubby started with allergy type runny nose about April this year and it has been near enough constant, had all the nasal sprays that you can think of to no effect. Hope you find an answer and can let me know.

I suffer with that too, use about 100 tissues per day, so annoying, that with the runny eyes and the dry cough,it's a nightmare going out when it's windy.

Doctor has no answer, just part of the symptoms of COPD.

Sorry can't be any help.

Mine tends to start dripping at this time of the year due to the crops being harvested (does it every year). It's worse this year as the humidity levels have been very high (Easterly winds are so bad for my COPD) plus the pollution levels too are getting worse as Autumn nips at our heels. I keep an eye on those by having uk-air.defra.gov.uk/forecas... on my Twitter feed.

Access clear mucus production is the way our body protects itself from inflammation (caused by whatever aggravation)! With me jimmyr it's a combination of all the above things, plus the cooler nights and mornings, it's just a matter of finding out what's triggering your a drippy snout.

Maybe we should all buy shares in Kleenex .... ;-)

I have the same problem too - usually bad about twice a day, although sometimes as today all day, I put it down to different pollens, grass seeds etc being released during the day. Do not think there is much we can do about it - is just annoying - sorry not much help - hope it clears soon - is a pain taking the cannula off and on to wipe nose. Take care. xx

Hi Jimmy. Mine has been like that since I went onto oxygen especially when getting showered or dressed in fact when I am doing anything physical. We have his and her boxes of tissues in the living room, a box in the bedroom, one in the other bedroom where I change my oxygen cylinders, one in the room where I do my ironing (not very often) and last but very importantly one on the shelf in the hall in case it happens on the way to answer the front door.

Don't know what the answer is.

polly xx

Hi,

I have a condition called non allergic rhinitis. Nasal sprays do help but also can give me sores inside my nose which bleed a little. The spray I am using at the moment is called Rhinolast and doesn't seem to give me this problem.

Could be your meds - I have Post Nasal Drip (runs down the back rather than out the front - drives me chuffin' bonkers) if I'm on Preds, Seretide, Symbicort etc. but came off them - now only on small doses of Clenil.. (plus broncho dilators) - still get it, but much MUCH less than before.

But it gets worse when I get a cold...

If it really gets on your nerves& interferes with sleep, take a Hot Lemon at bedtime that contains a runny nose thing like Phenylephrine etc. - works for me - take for 7 days max or you risk rebound issues.

PS obviously check it doesn't clash with your other meds.. best wishes

Nasal rinse mentioned by Shirley - glad someone else mentioned it - when I say get a netti pot and saline wash everyone thinks I sell 'em. I dont but I've used one and know a few others that get bad hay fever & swear by 'em. Google netti pot & it get one from amazon... brilliant when all else fails to give any relief, the nasal wash helps - not a cure, maybe, but soooo glad of a few hours of improvement after.
