I was told today that my copd oxygen level is30%. I thought I was only 20, so I am quite pleased yet my breathing seams worse.
What category does this put me on?
Severe or very severe?

Hi I think very severe is under 30% so technically you are severe. x
I was told I was 22% about two years ago and I was much fitter and breathing better then.
This has left me very confused indeed!
Well your fev1 can go up as well as down and will vary by a few points at any given time. Maybe the time when it was lower you were coming down with something? That would affect your results. I would go by how you are feeling rather than by numbers as this is the important thing.
My fev1 is in the early/mid 70's but one day at my review I managed 80%. I was told I was now in the higher category, but it didn't last unfortunately. x
In the USA you would be considered as having just entered stage 4, very severe. 20% is transplant sign up
mmmm Oxygen level 30% I am thinking perhaps you mean lung functioning at 30%?
If Oygen level is 30% I would say you probably wouldn't be communicating here.
Severity by FEV1 table 30% very severe, or Severe 30-45% - according to patient UK patient.info/doctor/chronic...
I would say Severe 30%
24% and under very severe Just my view (I am not medical professional)
Thanks for all the information folks!
30% fev1 is borderline stage 3/4 Hugh.
