Life works in such mysterious ways, i joined this site trying to get information when i was first diagnosed with COPD. One day i replied to-a post and Candyred messaged back. What a good day that was, i have not laughed as much in years as i did when the messages passing to and fro got funnier and funnier. Since that time we speak to each at least once a day, sometimes much , much more. Those will be the days when one of us are on their knees crying for help and support, the kind of love and support that only another person who has this awful disease can give.

Thanks Candy Red my friend. I wish that you all find a friend like i have, it is life changing.

Thanks Sassy59 for responding to my post. I am not exaggeratting , it has been so wonderful to know that someone is there for me, day or night. I think the way this disease works , changing from hour to hour, affecting our mood, destroying our self confidence. It iswonderful to have someone say “ yes you can”’ when your messed up COPD self is telling you constantly “ you cannot do that “.

I say it again, because i really mean this, i hope everyone with or without COPD finds a really good friend like i have.

Petes recovering from severe sepsis and not doing too badly. The cellulitis in his left leg is improving too but his COPD seems a bit worse at the moment. One day at a time. Xxxx 😘

Hi Sassy, you seem to have more than your fair share of problems that are beyond your control right now, my heart goes out to you. When people used to make a toast to “ health, wealth and happiness” we know why they put health first, without your health everything becomes a struggle.

Thank you for your kind words. You are spot about the tears, she rang me when she read it, crying, i thought straight away something was wrong, something terrible had happened, but no , my post brought my Candy Red to tears.

PS. We are both cry babies , but we laugh a lot more than we cry, that is what makes her so wonderful for me, she always gets me laughing.

Yes, life can be very strange. When we talk it is like i have known her all my life. I really believe that she knows me better, and cares more than many of the people who would call themselves FRIEND.

Hi Robin, you are so right about laughter, that is what we do a lot of the time when we chat, we laugh ( and i mean real belly laughs) . I said yesterday that we should write a small book on funny COPD stories. This can be such a depressing illness but it can olso create some funny situations. These are the sort of things that a lot of people might get to understand how COPD can change our lives.

Sadly though my brain no longer works as it once did. Too much medicine, stress and life have seen to that. Sometimes i struggle to remember which day of the week it is. Still i have noticed a small improvment when i take a lot of vitamins, so here’s to hope ( all pandora left us to conquer the evils of this world ) there is always hope for abetter tomorrow. Thank you for the wonderful sentiment though, i will try to focus and see if i can improve my memory.

Thankyou ❤️ Yes she has made a huge difference to my state of mind. This illness can get you so low that you cannot see the light. There were dark days when i thought i would never get back up. Then we started laughing and the sun came back out. Now we laugh most days, we have exactly the same sense of humour. You sound like a really good person to me , i hope you have the love and support you need. Hoping you have a wonderful 2019

I once read something that said people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime and sometimes you never know why. You have been the one that has got lucky and have a friend for life. True friends are priceless so look after each other. So pleased that you found each other on here x

Thank you everyone who responded or liked my post. I hope you all get as much from this site as i have. People on here , even though we all have problems, people are just so thoughtful and kind. In those lonely hours when you feel as if you are the only person who cannot sleep, you come on site and there is always someone to talk to or funny posts to read. Love this site ❤️
