I am so happy to be back even if I am totally crippled with pain π you have to laugh..
Taking those two trains, lifting luggage etc finished me off. Took paracetamol.
I immediately went to the Healthfood shop yesterday morning and stocked up on my goodies but I may have to reach for the rescue meds. Although I wanted to wait until I got to RBH and have a proper checkup first..
So cold yesterday, but everything still looks so Christmassy, where there is light there is hope ππ
so had a brisk walk, went to the charity shops to stock up on jumpers and spent the afternoon in bed!
B&B is great and I have a big tv π
For the BLF forum member who asked for winter boosters:
I have added to my immune system winter boosters π so I make a mix of massage almond oil 80% and add 20% of respiratory essential oils. I massage the back of my neck, chest, thorax, solar plexus and the sole of my feet. Ask the assistant but I use thyme, eucalyptus, pine, lavender, rosemary, origan. You can use sesame or jojoba oil as a base if you wish.
It is more pleasant and less skin agressive than Vicks ointment for example. You must let it penetrate for 20mn before you get dressed.
Now you are supposed to do it x2 a day but I am lazy, regretfully as I think I am coming down with something, having been a day on the train with people coughing etc..
Use throw away gloves and donβt let it get near your eyes.
It is lovely you will breathe, it opens your nasal passages and your airways. I am even massaging my legs and knees with it normally but I have switched to Arnica oil from Weleda for aches and pains, it is more effective at the moment!
It looks beautiful Fran β¨ Iβm sorry to know you have so much pain now though. Hopefully youβll be able to manage it with your various treatments and be able to enjoy London better.
Good Morning Fran, Buenas Dias en Londres. Wow, You have done a lot since you arrived, I Love the Photo which has picked you up after all that Travelling and Lugging Suitcases around, No wonder you Limbs have ached so much, Finding the Health Shop is a Big Plus for you, I presume by now you have relaxed enough to take in all the wonderful sights,,,, through the TV maybe. I also use certain Oils on Body and I do put "Vicks" on my Bruises on hands which I tend to knock so Easily, (I read that from one of our members.) I also went back on the (Marmite ) Pred's, so feeling better with Breathing. had my first Ex Class on Thursday, made me feel much Better. Decided to Use my Exercise Bike today and some hand weights. I hope all goes well at the RBH and you come out Breathing Better and Generally have that "Feel Good Factor", Hope your Mum & Bea, Aria are all Well. valle Carino, hace un excelente Final Semana en Londres. Estoy muy allegro para ti Fran, 3 anos es mucho tiempo , Entonces , Londres es egual o Cambiar ? para me, Londres es siempre Guapa. Si, en este momento es muy importante por ti. Pasar los Dias Bien Carino. Besitos. xxxxxx
Don't underestimate the happiness you bring to us al Fran. Your beautiful pictures, updates , inspiring words and research are great medicine for us all. You humble me Fran, given all your worries you always manage to be cheerful and upbeat.
Good morning Fran. I do so admire all your traveling around Europe, I find traveling is very tiresome at the best of times. Being in close proximity, on public transport, to people who may be poorly is worrying as well. I hope your check up at the RBH goes well and you get a pleasant surprise. Yes, it was cold yesterday, it was below freezing in my workshop all day, so I stayed in the office to keep warm, it's not like I have a lot of work to do anyway.
Still working in your workshop???you need to use those thermals to keep warm our dear friend.
Well the journey is always a struggle but once you are where you want to get to it feels so much better, itβs worth the change of scenery..
I have a letter from my French consultant who said go there if you need to!! He must have known π
but I must do all those blood tests for the hydrocortisone intake. Iβll sort it out, it just feels so good for now to keep away from hospitals etc..makes me feel human again..
Hi Fran, yes, still working and I do wear many layers with 2 teeshirts, a shirt, two jumpers all under a boiler suit plus a snood. It is my hands, being wet, that suffer the most from the cold, quite often my fingers will refuse to work. Gloves are not an option, with them being dangerous, working with machines.
I see..you have those gloves with the end cut, donβt remember the name. They are good for iphones and touch screens π my niece had got me a pair of those!
Well you must still enjoy the old workshop, or else you would give up..
Iβm missing working. Actually missing teaching, although I wouldnβt have the breath or the voice to teach French nowadays.
Even those are a no-go, not supposed to wear anything that can catch on moving parts: No rings, watches, neckties or any gloves even fingerless ones (which would still get wet).
The lights on the tree look lovely. Hope you get on alright with the RBH. Think I will try your massage oil as my rheumatoid kicked in well before Christmas and is just not easing, perhaps like you lugging cases from trains doesnt help. Good that you stocked up in jumpers, enjoy your trip to London and keep using the nasal guard. Take care. Irene x
Thank you Irene!! I overdid it with the cases π I have some Christmas presents for family and friends.
Yes lugging a heavy case up those silly train steps and racks, not good for my fractured vertebrae. I left my burdensome nebuliser behind but shouldnβt have π see if I can hire one from the chemistβs I used to know.
I really recommend essential oils with a good oil base and throw away gloves..itβs messy but I got the hang of it now because it really makes a difference.
Thanks Fran, I have a few essential oils but havent really studied it, think it is time I got the hang of it. The one I use is the Aetheleon organic oregano essential oil for my chest and its really good, but to take it really needs some guts, not matter if swallowing with oil, water or anything else it takes my breath away. Most oils I know you dont ingest but this one had a good write up. Hope you manage to get a nebuliser xx
What a lovely post, dear Fran. You are amazing. So full of life and enthusiasm and positive stuff. Wow with knobs on. Feels better to have you in the country. Hope all goes well at RBH.
I donβt know how you do all of that train travelling! I do hope that your visit to RBH turns out well and that meanwhile you will enjoy what London has to offer. xx

Hi Littlepom,
Thank you for your kind words π
NY resolution, I wonβt let LAM get to me.. Actually yesterday I was a wreck and thought I would live to regret it π but today I am already improving. It is very much a mental attitude, I have been waiting 3 years for that trip..π
Hi Fran, hope your appointment goes well. I like the sound of all the essentials oils they sound good might give them a go. Glad you got stocked up on the jumpers you'll need them. Best wishes Majt π€π xx

Hi Majt,
I really recommend that mix!
But the Weleda Arnica massage oil is top for pain. I felt better this morning after the massage. Another couple of days and I will get back to the swimming pool π€ xx
There is a lot of flu around Fran and the Noro Virus (sickness & the other) bugs, so be careful to wash hands frequently from shopping trolleys , buses , door handles etc. Enjoy the shopping! When I lived in France I just loved to hunt around them when I visited the UK for bargains!
Thank you Jazz!! I will use my antiseptic gel! Everybody is sick here with something or rather π ..It doesnβt matter you have to live on so I am telling myself..π€ xx
Did anybody mention the 'cockney tax' ?during this period of seemingly endless austerity and in the interests of pre Brexit harmonisation you will now need to pay this tax my Happy friend Fran.simple process using your Lobster card(which now replaces the Oyster card)and all taxes collected will be redistributed to exiled cockneys oop north who can not afford to live in 'the big smoke'.looking forward to receiving your payment,oh and by the way welcome to London.
Thanks for the wonderful tips. Itβs always great to hear of a personal recommendation.. I am trying to boost my immune system as I had far too many flare ups last year for my liking and want to ensure this year is better.Thank you again and good wishes.
Hello Fran, Glad to hear you got to London safe & sound. Sorry it took its toll on your body, but I am sure you will recover with your varied ointments & potions plus little rest. Take care enjoy your break and hope your flat is complete soonxx Happy new Year
