Spending my 3rd day in hospital, after feeling really ill on Sunday. Yesterday they told me that there was a blood clot on my lung which they believe formed when I had a new hip fitted in October. The front of my operated leg had been really sore, that has now gone as the clot started there and then moved to my lung. It is being dispersed they tell me by blood thinning tablets which I will have to take for the rest of my life. Small price to pay I think. All in all I feel a lot better and when they review my situation this morning I’m hoping they will say I can go home. Thanks for reading and good luck to one and all. 👍🤓
Good morning all. : Spending my 3rd day... - Lung Conditions C...
Good morning all.
Wishing you well and hope you get to go home today. Take care xxxxxxx
Sorry to know you weren’t well. But I’m glad things seem to be getting better for you now and I hope you will be able to go home today and back to your lovely flowers (albeit with sturdy gardening gloves with the blood thinners) Take care of yourself 🌸🌼🌺
So sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, Roysieboy....that hip replacement has been quite a hill to climb.
It sounds as though you are sorted out by now though and ready for home. As HH says, don’t forget those gardening gloves! Though most of my plants sleeping for the winter now...a few indoors. Just got a winter basket to plant, with little cyclamen, violas and a young spreading pine.
Take care and hope you’re home again soon 🌹 Penny xx
it's a bugger you got one of the well known complications post op but sounds like all good now and ready for home. Keep smiling
Oh ‘eck! You could have done without that. Hope they let you out to enjoy your new hip again.
Cheers Don I am hoping to know today how the doctors c the situation. 👍🤓
Sorry to hear of your troubles but at least the medics have got it sorted"
Lots of people including my husband and a good friend take blood thinners. They seem to be pretty common these days.
Hope you get out of hospital soon and are on the way to a speedy recovery in time for Christmas
Best wishes
Corin
I’ve been taking one Asprin tablet a day since it was first recommend yonks ago. Then they changed their minds saying not to take them. I’ve no idea what the current thought is, but I won’t be stopping now.
Maybe Aspirin has fallen out of favour because of damage to the lining of the stomach. Hope you're taking one with a coating to avoid this.
My husband takes Rivoroxiban.
Take care
Does taking omerprazole protect your tummy if taking asprin? Hope so as my son in law takes an asprin a day, havent seen the coated ones but will mention this to him, thanks x
Good luck Roysieboy - you've been through a lot.
Glad they have sorted you out Roysieboy and I hope you get out of 5* today. Take care.
Love cx
Thank goodness the clot was spotted before it travelled further and didn't contribute to a stroke, heal well Roysieboy i am sure they will release you soon.
Ski's and Scruff's x
I’m glad you’re feeling better, and hope you get home today. Wishing you well xxx
Thank u cor. I not sure whether it has a coating or or not will have to look. Thank u anyway for replying. 👍🤓
Now your home Hun , Rest and take things slowly. I have just got Home from my Day at my Transplant Hospital, So a Bit Tired after a Hectic day with Bloods, X Rays and Surgeon Talk. I also Remember my Hip Replacement, To this day , I accuse it of bringing on my Lung Disease, it will never be proven though. Take care Hun. Love n Hugs xxxx
Hello Hun. Thank u for taking time to reply. U have been through the wars reading ur reply. Hope it works out for u. As for me I don’t like looking at the garden and it hasn’t been done, but I know what u mean. Since the blood clot moved to my lung, my hip op leg has felt really good, soreness has all gone and I can walk without a stick. I will try not to go headlong into anything. Thank u for replying.x👍🤓
Hello Roysieboy .
So sorry to hear this news. But very happy they found the problem and you are much better. I hope you get to go home very soon. Please take things easy and keep warm.
Thinking of you,
Cas xx 🌿🌷
Hope you are soon home
Hello Joyce. Nice to hear from you. I came home yesterday afternoon, it’s very nice to be
back in familiar surroundings. It’s very nice of u to reply. Keep well and beat wishes from this end. x👍🤓
Since being diagnosed with clots in both lungs, with lung cancer in my liver and bones, I am taking a blood-thinning injection in my stomach for the rest of my life. As you said, a small price to pay. Cheers, Joan
Hello Joan. Nice to converse with u. At this end it is emphysema, copd, blood clots and hip replacement recently. It all seemed to come at once. My moan for the day. Have a nice day Joan and keep thinking positive. Good luck to u. x👍🤓
Yes, I’m usually a glass half full person, as any previous replies show. Today I’m feeling low as some of my side effects were getting me down (I now use a wheelchair because my hip is too damaged to pin and the newest cancer is in the base of my spine. The nerve pain is similar to sciatica). I have had radiotherapy for which I am very grateful.
Sorry for that somewhat abrupt reply but I wish I had tablets for blood thinning, instead of the daily injections, as you probably guessed.
I do hope your hip keeps improving and your lung problems are manageable. X
Fingers very firmly crossed for you Roysieboy. At one point I had an urgent referral to the DVT nurse, fortunately there was no sign of a clot with me. I’m very glad that yours has proved to be treatable. Stay well 😎
Cheers Brian. Always worth getting checked out. All is quiet at the moment. It’s a wonder I don’t rattle. Each day pills 💊 for chest infection, pills 💊 for blood thinning and inhaler for emphysema and copd. That is my beef for today. Thank u for listening. Keep well and best wishes from this end. 👍🤓
You have certainly been through the wars. Pity it took the clot to reach your lung before it was discovered. Glad all is well now and you are back home. Just remembered you can't have alcohol while taking them...unless things have changed now. My Mum was on warfarin and couldn't have her wee sherry at Xmas but that was over 20 years ago. Take care xx
Good morning. Sorry you are not so well at the moment. You seem to be going in the right direction though. Hope you will be home soon.
Thank u Rayswife. Nice to hear from u. I seem to have had a couple of bad months. Let’s hope that is all behind me now. Cheers for taking the trouble to reply. Very kind. Best wishes from this end. 👍🤓
Oh dear you poor thing, what a worry. In the old days they used to prescribe blood thinners for a few weeks after an op to prevent exactly this. Grrrr. You must be pretty strong Roysieboy. Hope you're on the mend. P
So sorry to hear you have been so poorly and glad to hear that you are on the mend. I hope you are now at home and feeling good, get better soon. Irene x
Am at home Irene. Feeling better waiting for the nurses to come to see me. They call themselves “Hospital at home team” apparently they will see how my breathing is and make sure all is ok. They do this for 48 hours so the pamphlet says. Nice touch. Thank for the good wishes and the same to you. x👍🤓😷
Hi Roysieboy,
Sending good vibes thru cyberspace for a speedy recovery and good clotting results. The upside could be a wee dram, just for medicinal purposes of course?
All the best from a stranger, Scousetaff
Glad to hear you are doing better and hoping they release you today.
Hello Jackdup. I am home thank goodness. Don’t feel to bad. Will press on. Thank u for asking. 👍🤓
Stay well, and go home soon! Enjoy the holidays with a great prognosis! 🙋🏼🎶
Congratulations! Sending you positive energy in prayers for a complete recovery! 🙋🏼
Such a nice thought. Thank u. U have a good Xmas and a Happy New Year. 👍🤓
Glad you’re on the road to recovery 🐞
Good luck and hope you get home soon Sonia
Hope you have a speedy recovery and are home soon x
Hello Pauline. I came home on Tuesday. Always feels better when u get in familiar surroundings. Speedy recovery, I certainly hope so. Thank u for replying and I hope u, family and friends all have Good Xmas and New Year.👍🤓🎁🎼
Nos da Roysieboy, with or without the wee dram. Hope your 1st day home was good. I was shattered after a recent 6 night stint, there s no peace on an acute ward. Heres to a more comfortable nights rest.
Scouse
Cheers mate, I appreciate the fact that u have taken the time to reply. It wasn’t a very good day breathing wise but to get in my own bed 🛌 magic. As far as the dram goes one of the tablets I am on says no alcohol but I finish them before Xmas so maybe Christmas Eve. Thank u again. Have a good one. 👍🤓🎁🥃🌲🎅
