DLA to PIP awarded.

Been awarded PIP after being on DLA for 6 years. When they wrote to say I was being taken off DLA and to apply for PIP, I was dreading it. Along with the application form I sent a wad about an inch thick of letters, diagnosis etc; from Drs, specialists and even a report from the Occupational Therapist, but still had to have a face to face, although they came to me, without me asking. She even followed my son into the kitchen when he'd gone to get my medications that she'd asked to see, she had a good look round the kitchen! Anyway, the dreaded brown envelope came, and even though I've been awarded the same level as DLA, enhanced, I was somewhat surprised to see points awarded for things I wouldn't have expected to receive and low or no points I felt I should have had high for! Either way, I'm no worse off and definitely not going to appeal because of the way they've awarded points.

Funkybiker,

Good news, what a great feeling knowing you are still going to get the financial support.

Their scoring is very strange though.

Well done. I sent mine off with as much clinicale evidence as I could! They came to me too. One thing that annoyed me of the 2 forms is they are slightly differant which could mean if you fill it in the same you could get less points? The DLA states 50 metres but PIP is 20 metres Walking without discomfort? DLA would allow you to use your bed to help dressing etc but PIP will not it has to be a chair/stool?

Be well
