Just wondering as anybody received notification of changes from DLA to PIP. I was awarded No End Date in 2013 however I now have to apply for PIP. I am concerned that I may not get it with the stories that you read about the assessments if I have to go on one.

We are stuck now the wife and I with bus passes and 4 miles from the bus station !!!! . Just heard today that the rules are changing yet again as from tomorrow 16/03/17 so all the BEST and please do get HELP , chibby
Hi CarlB, from what I read on site & other media, it seems most people being assessed for change from DLA to PIP are loosing out on the mobility componant it is due to the new rule on walking distances , some assessors refuse it because you can walk to a car which is ridiculous to put it mildly. There is another rule which applies also, the one that says if walking makes your illness worse, there are lots of rules or guidelines about the mobility part and the care. Under some of the old rules which still apply this money is supposed to be to maintain your independance due to disablement. In some cases you can dispute refusal of payment on the grounds of unlawful decision but you need a solicitor or law center to take such a case and it takes a long time. Only the rules on age for PIP have changed, and the distance someone can walk without help or resting, a lot of the rules as I understand are still similar to the old DLA rules. The Pip age rule for those on existing DLA could even be illegal in respect of using age as a criteria. Only pensions are exempt from age discrimination as I understand it. That's just a personal opinion not necesaryily fact. Good luck with finding help to fill out the forms and your assessment.
Thanks for that.
I was on life time DLA, but was told I'd have to apply for PIP in 2017. Not heard anything yet.
I have just had my letters about my increase to my DLA this will continue indefinitely so to will my carers allowance . so I will not have to go for another assessment, at anytime they want to do an assessment they will have to come to the home
I was on d l a originally but then had the assessment to change over to pip.which was very nervous to do but just tell the truth. I ended up getting enhanced rate on care and mobility. Which made me on the higher rate.
I would prefer my health back rather then the money but I guess most feel the same.
