Hi all, its me again. Following my Tribunal for PIP Appeal on Friday, I've been awarded PIP. YEAH!! Got Mobility, didn't get daily living, but I'm pleased with how it all went. A Big thank you to you all for your comments, you all were right I had no need for a representative, it was, however, good to have the support and guidance of this really good team thepsu.org/ my support worker and all you lovely people on this community sharing your thoughts and tips, it certainly helped me, to avoid getting into the pitfall of being asked to pay out £400 for a representative I did not need.
Just need to ask, what happens next? How soon will I receive the payment?

Congratulations on you success, if you have been notified it’s probably on route to your account should show on the end of the next working day, Tuesday with any back payment to date of claim received at DWP.
Don’t forget your blue badge is now automatically granted can be done online.
Oh, thanks stone-UK. I thought it would take about 4 weeks from being notified, also is the blue badge for standard mobility, I thought you only got blue badge with enhanced mobility? Interesting Wow
Hi Toby i was awarded the old DLA (been receiving it for 6years) however 2 & half years ago i informed them of a change due to an increase in hospital admissions with breathlessness & lung infections from Bronchiectasis. I was informed i would have to apply for PIP i did & got turned down i appealed & finally have my tribunal date on 17.5.19 my condition over time has become worse not better or the same. I feel that because i am employed this will go against me as one of the things the examiner picked up on at an assessment was i manage to drive a manual car to work, what they didn’t add is some days i have to use a taxi or work from home, luckily my job allows me to plan my own diary to a certain extent.
The reason they turn down a lot of applications the first time is because they get money for it, its how thier company is paid, by refusing people's claims.
Julie14, whether or not you work isn’t relevant. Driving isn’t relevant. It is solely about your daily living needs, your ability to plan and follow a journey and how far you can walk.
Make sure you are familiar with the points system (the descriptors).
The test is about how reliably, safely, to an acceptable standard and as often as you need to. You need to be having difficulty at least 51% of the time.
If you focus on these aspects, you have a good chance.

I agree, we should not need to. I sent letter from consultant saying what was wrong and how it left me breathless, copy of lung function result (lungs at 30%), details of all hospital tests, ex-rays, ct scans, my blue badge number and everything else I could think of.
The doctor's letter should be enough. If it's not then they are either calling him inadequate as a doctor or a liar.
I wonder what would happen if all the doctors whose letters are dismissed were to join together and sue the people who do this.
If an appeal is unsuccessful, people can ask for a statement of reasons for the Tribunal’s decision. The Tribunal would have to explain why they rejected medical evidence. The most helpful evidence is where it comments on the descriptors, e.g. stating how far a person can walk and why they have physical limitations affecting their walking.
PIP copes better with variability than DLA did. You just have to be clear that you have difficulties the majority of the time. If you could walk once in a day but needed to walk 3 times a day, you would satisfy the criteria. It is about being about to walk relabel you, to an acceptable standard, as often as you need to.
Wheezyof I too had letters from consultants, paramedics all my medical records, to which there are a lot, the Dr at tribunal commented on this too, but it doesn't seem to be enough, especially when a pen pushers tells me not diagnosed!! Once given our conditions aren't reversible, if anything gets worse, should be renewed automatically...stress is last thing we need
