Thanks, Skis. Having just bought a giant Sanatogen, Iβll watch it later, minus the green tea! xx
I watched most of it. Over many years I have taken all types of supplements. The only one which has made an appreciable difference to my health and ability to avoid catching viruses is vitamin D 3. When I was tested after an awful winter of exacerbations, pneumonia and an empyema, my vit D was at 15. I went on to 5 weeks of 20,000 iu three times each week and from then on, 1600 iu every day. One cold and one chest virus in four years.
I do believe that there is a link between lung conditions and the inability to absorb vit D from our food. More research needs to be done on it.
I think linked with that and given that many of us are to a certain extent housebound during the winter months many of us would benefit from a vit d supplement.though i have to admit that i am not a great advocate for either extra vitamins or supplements unless a specific need has been identified.
You can always get your surgery to test for your vitamin D levels.
Getting my surgery to actually recognise that i am still alive would be a minor triumph, asking them to draw and analyse blood would be way beyond their capabilities.
You know my mantra. Insist onsist insist. Uou pat their wages and they can get off their ...es and do their job!

So love that dry sense of humour....had me chuckling for ages. πππ
That is brilliant to hear. Thank you and well done you. Good wishes
Really interesting, thanks. I am folate deficient and since taking folic acid i feel very much better, still get very out of breath though. I think folic acid is in most of these multivitamins so if i had taken them i would have thought they were marvellous when it is just one component i needed.
Two interesting things, anti oxidents can be bad for you and i think someone said voltarol doesn't work. All advertising is evil and just lies
I've been diagnosed through bloods as being low in B12 Folate and D vitamins even though I have a good diet. So now have to munch on supliments. Sometimes wonder if I should just eat junk food if I have to take supliments.
No you are doing all the right things, proper diagnosis and only taking those supplements shown to be needed.eating a healthy diet means that you can also enjoy those takeaways and chocs in moderation and of course a tipple of what you fancy.
Ski's with tonight's supplement of fish curry and strong belgium beer lol
It is a tv programme that you might not be able to see. Can't remember who it was but he is an actual scientist who has done experiments.
There is proof that anti oxidants can do harm as in the link i posted which as inamoment states you may not be able to open or view but other scientific bodies have reached the same conclusions.
There are loads of articles. This for instance theguardian.com/commentisfr...
Just watched this and must admit to being very worried about taking any vitamin/mineral supplement ever again. I do feel over the moon that a chinese take away is actually good for you, so that is back on the sometimes list again mmm
