just watched a programme called the "truth about sugar " on bbc's iplayer, bit of an eye opener to say the lest, but then it seems, salt is bad as well, so short of going on a water diet ( too much of that can be bad too ) what is one to do ? as if we did not have enough to contend with , with our various ailments.

Hello tiger, I have such a sweet tooth! I guess its true that everything is ok in moderation! I like most things that are 'bad for you' so I say a little of what you fancy does you good! 😀 huff xxx

We would be scared to death to eat anything if we listened to everything that we are told.....personally i think cooking like we use to works just fine and just stay away from the ready meals as they are the ones loaded with all the nasty stuff x

I was more upset at the other program that was on called "my violent child" it should have been called "my useless parents"

Yes, too much sugar is bad. The industry is like the tobacco industry , huge!

I use loads of herbs, spices, lemon juice and garlic in my food to make it tasty.

Too much salt is bad but it's been in use for thousands of years, I use only sea salt in moderation.

I look forward to watching that programme on iPlayer when I return to UK next week (and hundreds of others) after four months away.

We can lead our lives as we think fit. Yes too much sugar can be bad for you but so can loads of everything else including the sun.

Where do you draw the line. I believe draw it to where it accommodates you.

What a boring life we would lead if we didn't do anything what is potentially bad for you.

Don't get me wrong I work in a Dentist and over the 40 years I have seen enough damage to teeth, then you ask the parent the question - does your child eat a lot of sweets? and then you wait---- No.

A small child can't buy their own.

I didn't watch the programme but I will now.

Take care.

why is it that every thing you like is bad for you ,and what you don`t like is good for you?

I've survived a reasonably long time by just ignoring all this stuff - Edwina's egg scare, I was buying them so cheap and eating them soft boiled; ditto beef (mad cow - the disease, not me, although come to think of it...........!) ditto lamb and scrapey, whatever that was. Whole industries have grown up thriving on the scare them stupid mantra; a few years back butter and dairy stuff was going to kill us - now that's been debunked and it's the artificial stuff that's dangerous! I think a reasonable intake of stuff harms no-one - just beware of excess.
