Sounds like you have had some good times recently and many reasons to celebrate, hope you enjoy your new 'happy' car,i am thinking to get the Citroen c 3 aircross on the motability when i can work up the enthusiasm,i would normally get something small and sporty but it sounds a bit more practical for me. xxx
Had a Citroen C3 , the previous Model when I worked as an estate agent in Spain, it was a Company Car it did me well for all the kilometres I travelled in it. Today's C3 is lovely, been advertised on TV recently. Enjoy Every Day Carino...Go for it sooner , you know you have to. Besitos XXXXX
Are you pleased with the car i have one of those on order pick up at the end of September also when you had the valves now long did it take before you felt the benefit
Morning Kath, Are you having Valves? I felt the Benefit of the Valves Straight away, after time they Improved my Breathing a little more, although I still have Oxygen 16 Hours, Night time is OK, The problem is finding the other 8 Hours during the day. Yes, I love my New Car Renault Captur, You will enjoy Yours, I have named my girl. Best Of Luck xxxxx
No I'm not suitable for the valves but my sister had some just over a week ago and showing no improvement although she did get an infection after so hoping she will be better when it clears
Hi Again Kath, We are all affected differently, Your Sister may need a bit longer, it's only a week ago, I was told I may get an Infection , Cough or Exacerbation, I've had the Cough and went to my GP with it, just so he could listen to my chest, nothing untoward. It seems to have cleared up now. But, I am very happy with My Valves, I'm able to walk from the Room to Room without Gasping for Breadth. I've just had a CT Scan to see how the valves are working and that they Haven't moved, I will know at my next Appointment in September. xxx
Hi Babs, what bad timing! So sorry youve developed an infection...take those meds and get yourself well enough and the 10th October will be here before you know it. Lots of love to you and everything crossed...ππβ€π
Thank you and yes talk about bad timing indeed .I've had a really well year up til now .Thought I could get away with it but no my surgeon ,Mr Jordan said no way as it will be too dangerous close to an infection and antibiotics .Got the letter today I go in7 the Oct operate on the 8 th. So another extra 4 weeks but I'm sure it will pass quickly .I'm sure your Chartris will go well I had mine in February .Good luck for the 5 th and keep us informed .
That really is lousy timing. Thereβs never a great time to get a chest infection but this really is not a good time. I hope you feel better quickly and you can have your surgery then. π
You need to be in tip top condition for lvrs, so better to wait a few weeks. Good luck for then, Iβll be thinking of you in Alexandra ward, with those lovely nurses!
I had my valves (seven of the little things) in mid-February at the RBH and I'm doing so well. Life-changing.
True they've now dscovered a bacterium in my lungs which needs to be dealt with in case it turns nasty in the future, which means (probably) two weeks as an inpatient soon for intravenous antibiotics follwed by lifelong prohylactic inhaled antibiotics twice day... but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes.
I'm so glad your valves are working for you and wish you continued good health .Letter came already ,in 7 th Oct op on 8 th. Did they tell you what the bacterium was called as when I came into the Brompton in Feb for trials and had a chartis .After a couple of days when I came home they rang with one of the results to say I had bacterium growing / living in my lungs .It was called Klebsiella pneumoniae .I have meds to take 2 weeks before the op just wondered if yours was the same .As far as I'm aware I have no symptomsand they said it might be colonised and not cause me any problems button take the meds as a precautionary measure .Good luck to .
I have two bacteria discovered after the procedure. One is Mycobacterium Something which they won't bother about unless I get symptoms. The other is Pseudomonas Something which is the one they want get rid of/prevent mulitplying. I understand this is because it loves to colonise foreign bodies (the valves) and can be nasty in those of us with less than perfect (!!) lungs.
Thank you I know it will soon be here .Got the letter already ,go in 7 th Oct op on the 8 th so I'm fighting to get fit .Antibiotics kicked in quickly and I'm feeling so much better so π€I stay healthy til Oct..Thanks again
You're doing all the right things Babs so fingers crossed there'll be no more delays. Takes so much to get psyched up for operations & then be disappointed. Sending hugs and all best wishes xx
Thank you my friend I was so geared upmentally for September 10 th but nature had her way and stopped me in my tracks with the dreaded chest infection .It knocked me sideways as I've been really healthy for 9 months π
Hi Maggie all was going great until yesterday .I seem to have developed a rather annoying non productive cough also feel like I've got a cold coming .Granted it's not a chest infection but I go in on Sunday and although I feel ok I'm not sure whether to tell them ......
or not .Thanks for your good wishes Maggie and of course I will keep you all up to spec .Hope you are well and fighting fit .You take care
