My doctor wrote a letter to ESA stating I could not get to the centre and they have turned me down, what can I do.

Hello Richard. There is a site at ureadable.com to do with benefits with a forum. Lots of information and help on there.

I don’t understand why as my doctor wrote to them and I didn’t even get a home visit, my reasons are if there is no parking outside the front door then I wasn’t able to go due to not being able to walk any distance. Maybe you could speak to your doctor and ask if another letter could be sent as this is causing you great stress and anxiety at the thought of trying to get there, I know they are sticklers for assessments but they don’t understand that we styggle to breath which leads to panic and could also end in collapse, maybe losing control of your bladder, from experience if I’m in a panic I cannot control my bladder this is due to Oxygen being the last place to reach during a panic attack. I hope you get it sorted atos health care are ignorant to problems they cause and need to rethink the whole assessment process and prioritise people who genuinely cannot get there, but if your doctor stresses this then maybe they will listen. I hope you get sorted, breath easy x

Hello

you can get home visit depending on what your Dr has wrote in the letter, home visit takes longer...you can also ask to take taxi which they will pay your fare.

if you suffer panic attack stress and anxiety they don't normally call for medical assessment again what your Dr has said in your medical certificate and ESA50 which you may have completed

please you need to explain in ESA50 form when completing with supporting letter from your DR

I had a home assessed for pip. Originally they said no.but when doctor and consultant both sent letters backing up my claim that I cannot walk to far I get very panicky and I am full time oxygen. It seemed to work 2nd time round. They rung me to say they would come to me.said they didn't know about oxygen even though the doctor had put it in the letter to them. Apparently they do try it on a bit.dont give in push them. Talk to advisors here or age concern they are very helpful good kuck
