Can anyone please tell me if u have to pay for oxygen abroad mostly the Canaries

Hi You should be able to get oxygen through the EHIC card arrangement if you have one. It does take some time beforehand to arrange but if you contact BLF helpline they should be able to help. If you get stuck please contact me.

With an EHIC card you are entitled to the same medical treatment as a person from that country. So if a Spanish person is entitled to free Oxygen so are you. If I remember rightly and I looked into this a few years back for the Canaries (Spain) you had to be on oxygen for more than 8 hours a day to be entitled to free oxygen. This may have changed. I was looking at being charged as I am only on ambulatory oxygen. I think I spoke to someone at the foreign office who was very very helpful. Hope that helps a bit.
