Nebulisers

I have only just realised that I have been doing it wrong for years and complained how long it took.

The correct way

1. Keep the mask etc clean, wash in hot water every day and air dry.

2. Pour the nebules directly into the reservoir, not down the tube.

3. Now takes about 10 minutes to clear 500 micrograms. Sorted.

I assume the liquid is sticky so by pouring it down the tube it sticks to the sides. This builds up if not kept clean.

Hope this tip might help someone.

JJ

I’m sorry but the thought of putting it down the tube made me cry laughing. Well done for finally figuring it out and happy nebulising.

I guess you mean the tube in the mask.....I have done that sometimes rather than pull the whole lot apart . With my small hand held nebuliser I now use the mouthpiece rather than the mask.

In hospital I noticed most nurses put it down the tube in the mask so I just followed suit. I guess it only lengthened the process and didn’t do any harm.

I had visions of it going all the way down the long tube - then that’s how my very strange brain works!

Hi I also had visons of it going all the way down the long tube. Majt 😃
