Poor Dog has COPD?
The horse that my daughter used to exercise gently for its owner had to take bronchodilators.
My three cats were diagnosed with asthma after contracting pneumonia......just like I did. We all used to cough, wheeze and struggle to breathe together.
Hi
Dogs especially small breeds such as the terrier can have COPD,

Including cats. Horses as well (COPD, also known as “Heaves” or Recurrent Airway Obstruction)
Thanks for link Stone that's amazing
Awww shame, I 've heard of horses with emphysema, but not dogs before although I have noticed little dogs with breathing probs, inter breading of pedigrees etc, like the pug and king charles. Having said that chances are those little dogs probably have done a lot of passive smoking and walking at the height of car exhaust emissions.
Horses can get COPD (now known as recurrent airway obstruction RAO) commonly known as 'broken wind' or 'Heaves' thought to be from allergic reaction to spores in damp feed and/or damp/dusty stables.
I was ignorant to all this may give dogs owner better understanding also many thanks
Then there's all those poor dogs, like pugs and bulldogs, who are bred in such a way that they have difficulty breathing without even having to have a lung condition.
Yes. I do wish people wouldn't buy them. If they'd ever been truly breathless themselves, they might understand how cruel it is to breed respiratory issues.
Hi frose,In fairness my carers dog is a West Highland terrier (scottie ) and they have been around for long time but totally understand what you're saying about breeds like these desiner dogs some that are obviously struggling to breathe almost from day one, regards Ger
