Help COPD
Hi, I can sympathise. I finished my third lot of antibiotics yesterday and I have pains in my upper back too ....I think it is muscular though .....and paracetamol every four hours does nothing. But my cough is better as is my breathing, but it is painful to take a deep breath .
I have an electric heat pad which does help......or you can try a hot water bottle, not too hot, wrapped in a towel.
I would contact your GP again and tell them about your pain....the infection might still be there. As you are still breathless, which I am not particularly, have you tried ringing 111 for advice or your pharmacist until you can see your GP. Please see if you can get some help today even though it's the weekend.
Take care
Good morning knitter thank you for your reply,GP is a waste of time so yes i will try pharmacist today,This pain in shoulder blades has not gone since March this year and no change even after two lots of antibiotics,Iam seeing consultant on 28th June for results of second CT scan hopefully i will start some treatment because I am now a lot worse then i was in March when i first went to A&E after calling 111 for advice they sent ambulance they though maybe i was having a heart attack but no it turned out to be after tests COPD or emphysema.Iam so fed up waiting around for appointments it seems a long time to be without treatment i cant imagine whats going on because of this pain,Unable to lay down breathing is so much worse so sitting is what i have to do&iam so tired now.
Take care x.
Try some ibrufen gel as well. It might help x i went through something similar for 18 months a couple of years ago. Try pushing for a pulmonary rehabilitation course often we get really extra hyperinflated lungs after a bad flare up. So a refresh on breathing techniques or posture advice can help. I used a walking rollator all the time now because helps my posture when walking rarely get the shoulder pains through hunghing my shoulders when struggling to breathe
