Your alliums make mine look like very poor relatives!

in reply to helenlw7

😊They were a little thin at the beginning and suddenly grew strong and sturdy 🀞

These are quite puny looking with not much of a flower on top. I think they were better last year!

Hi Fran, the weather here is gorgeously sunny. I have just been on a short trip to Devon. Notice the roses are coming out with this sun. But my chest is not good up the inhalers till it gets a bit cooler again. Hope you are keeping well. Baked a toffee cake with butter icing sending you a cyber peice :) xx

in reply to katieoxo60

Hi Kate

Thank you for that toffee cake 🍰 I can taste it from here 😊

I love Devon. Which part did you go to?

We used to go to a village called Bow near Crediton and travel from there.

Glad you have good weather to look at, at least. I know what you mean about upping inhalers I have too..because of the wind. The neighbours told me about the wind and changeable weather. It feels hot in the sun but freezing in the shade so I felt strange when I got home yesterday. I thought I was coming down with something. But I feel better today. I have my nebuliser out just in case but I am lazy at the moment..

So I stayed home and did some cooking. Bea likes her buckwheat pancakes, I cooked the kale with onions and apples and did a pan of new potatoes. So your cake will be perfect with my coffee!πŸ˜‰

Have a lovely Sunday xx

We went to Okehampton on the border of Dartmoor, but we actually stayed at Fowley Cross two miles outside of Okehampton. Visited the moors, Lydford Gorge, Tavistock, Okehampton and the dartmoor museum, plus Launceston & princetown. Just had one of those silent calls, waiting for the boiler service engineer for annual service. My son-in-law came and mowed the lawn on Sunday, it grows so quick. But he said a nice toffee cake was all the payment he needed so gave him half to take home. Glad you enjoyed yours with coffee :) :) xx Have a good day.

Sounds lovely Kate..

Oh dear service engineering on a Monday!!

The engineer got delayed in traffic on the M1 but did make it. Very polite and quick boilers in full working order service report logged with the insurance company. Time to finish off the toffee cake today plus Physio later. Still sunny here in England Fran, so need to make the best of it :) :) xx

in reply to katieoxo60

Ahhhh as long as he made it and you were happy with the service 😊 That toffee cake must have been huge!! πŸ˜ƒ

How is the physio? Useful?

Glad the weather is still pleasant your way. We have had a little thunder and now it is pooring. Good for the garden!!

Have a nice evening Kate πŸ¦‹πŸ πŸŒˆ

Hi Fran, my grandson said traffic was bad on the banbury road into Coventry too, that's the back to work rush on a Monday.I make the toffee cake in a square bake tin so you do get a lot of pieces out of it, gave the family half. Not sure about the Physio said they have a picture back from Xray but no report. The physio states she can't see any breaks on the xray. But I thought even old breaks still show up and that's what the xray is for to see if any arthritis as set in on the old injury site. The physio is to improve the mobility in the joint if possible and reduce new pain that has begun recently in the last 18 months. It seems once you have a diagnosis of chronic no cure illness there is no option but to be pumped full of pills till you die of side effects, sorry but I am not impressed and this approach only makes people feel more depressed. Sorry for moan there are some far worse off than me but when you are in constant pain and breathing problems you do get down. The weather is still good here but thunderstorms predicted. Rain is needed for garden as you say. Go back to physio on 7th June when I will take her the names of the two shoulder breaks I have had. Have a lovely day speak to you again soon xx

in reply to katieoxo60

Hi Kate

Square tins are a good idea to remember, thanks!

Awful what you are going through with your arthritis. I try hard to keep mobile but with the fractured vertebrae it is more difficult. I know what you mean about more meds and side effects. Well tomorrow I have an appointment with the neurosurgeon I hope he is not going to say he has to operate..I didn’t have to wait long must be 6 weeks already since I had that chest xray and the radiologist made the discovery. I would be happy with physio and injections πŸ˜‰with our weak lungs even a simple op like the cataract was an ordeal..

I’m on my way to the eye specialist, I don’t think it’s the end of it because the right eye is still blurry..probably more drops and another glasses prescription!

So a busy week..

You take good care of yourself Kate. Nice to know you have family around you.

Love xx

Fran

Hello Fran, good luck with your appointments. Yes I prefer physio and they suggested injections in my thumbs but the GPs won't do them. Has to be ointment on my joints . However I have heard that rosehips are good for arthritic pain latest is called gopo around Β£26 for a months supply. Got a nice Fuschia and a plant called Calibrachoa with all different colour flowers on it, don't recall seeing one before. hope your eye improves with treatment take care and don't rush around too much.Doing exercises think they might be loosening the joints a little not bad for only a few days into the programme. Have a good day Bye for now. xx

They look lovely, so healthy too. Must tidy my garden up, I do try but it is quite large.

in reply to Lyd12

Thanks Iris 😊 Nice to have a big garden. No ours is a ground floor flat garden but it is big enough. I have to tidy up too. We had a problem with slugs I think. A slug attack this year! πŸ˜ƒbig holes in leaves or some kind of parasite ..We don’t want to use strong products because of the cat really. I’m getting advice on Thursday.

Have a good night x
