A couple of weeks ago I took a walk up to the Wyche pub to see if I could still do it, I'm pleased to report I can and the pint still tastes the best ever when I get there, well it is 2 hours of hard labor later.
I took a few pics as I do through a new clearing looking down on the estate where I live and out across the Severn Valley between Worcester and Upton Upon Severn.
After this I drove to Dads to see his roses, I think you'll agree that they have run a little wild but that's how he and the wildlife like it these days.
As for the new lady in Dads life well, look out step mum, I don't think it'll be to long before she moves in.
If you want to see her click the link and scroll through the views and roses until you find her, she is really quite colourful and getting more trusting and friendly compared to when she first turned up a month ago.
Those roses maybe running wild but they look pretty good on it don't they. The cat well she just turned up around a month ago, you couldn't get anywhere near her back then but Dads been working on it and now she's becoming quite domesticated.
I think she'll soon have a name and be moving in at dads don't you.
Dad lives for his garden as you can see, its gradually shrinking though as he isn't as young as he used to be. A large area has been returned to nature and is fast becoming a wildlife sanctuary.
He still has his veg patch and flowers out the front which keeps him occupied, its all planted up now so he's busy watering everything.
I'm going over tomorrow to visit and may have a stroll out in the surrounding countryside if the weather is ok.
My lungs like yours are playing up a bit so I'll have to take it steady and this time I mean it. . xxxxx
Lovely roses Tony, are they perfumed. Some of the bush roses smell gorgeous. On our walt to the supermarket, we used to see masses of very tall pink perfumed roses. For some unexplicable reason the council dug them all out, now it is just scrubby wasteland. The cat looks very relaxed, i think she is going to be moving in any time soon. I think she looks like a Tabitha. Take it steadier on the next walk, plenty of time 6o train for olympics. Love Margaret x
Hi Margaret, they do smell lovely and when there's so many it really can't be missed even if your sense of smell isn't very good.
The small birds like the roses to as it gives them good protection from the sparrow hawk. They perch and roost in them chattering away in relative safety .
It'll be a steady walk out today just to get everything working and check out how I am when on the move.
I expect it was health and safety that got the council to remove those roses for fear someone would prick their finger and sue them, sounds stupid but probably true these days. .
Your right there Puff, its a great place to get away from it all and recharge the batteries. We don't know where the stray cat come from but all I know is she's picked a good place to make her home, I lived there for 25 years and had no complaints.
I envy those roses, my favourite flowers. the soil must suit them perfectly, We have lots but not all of them thrive. Our soil is too free draining. You climbed so high, I think we would all need oxygen to get up there, such lovely views. Beautiful cat, looks well cared for. Are there houses nearby where someone may have lost a cat? Take it easy. iris x
Too right onamission, they have a very nice cider called Robinsons at the Wyche Inn so no obstacle, even one as big as the Malvern hills is big enough to stop me.
Those roses are something else arn't they and the cat will soon be a family member if an owner doesn't show up soon.
My pleasure nancye, those roses were well worth sharing and if I can get a few more healthunlockeders out walking, even if it is to the pub then that's got to be a good thing yeh'.
