Why do people say this?

How can they know that?

I doubt I'm coming here again.

I know that as a fact.

So how can these strange people,

You've never seen before,

Be so very certain

That they're going see you more?

Perhaps they think they're magnets

You can't resist their draw.

As you try to leave the place

You're dragged back along the floor.

Maybe you are the magnet they can’t resist 😀. It seems a simple ‘goodbye ‘ is no longer enough . I can’t resist the people who answer the phone and introduce themselves ,for example ‘ Hello ,I’m Liam ,how can I help you ?” I always feel obliged to have a friendly chat then forget why I phoned 😃.

Hahaha very good Don. The saying i dislike, when I'm volunteering at the museum cafe, is when a young customer asks: "Can i get, a Latte" instead of " Can i have". It's so irritating i want to reply "well, you could get it, but, it would be so much easier if i get it for you.seeing as how I'm this side of the Counter". Of course i don't. I just smile, through my gritted Teeth! 😀👍✌️

In Japanese people don't say "See you later" unless there's a certainty that they will. It's always "Till next time". 😄

I agree one hundred percent with your rhyme. My husband says see you later to total strangers and it really annoys me. He has no explanation for why he does it!
