10 or 11 weeks ago l had inflenza (yes l did have the flu jab) . Temp 102 for 8 days... usual antibiotic cipro etc...
Have asthma, Bronchiectesis, COPD.... with 32% lung function as of 2005. Oxygen says steady at 89 - 94. Using neb a.m and p.m. Producing a little white secretion several tines daily. Take cotrimoxasil daily, usually with antibiotic 'holiday' June - Sept.
Problem now is with exhaling and it's not improving. Have gone from1.2 on spiromitary to .6 and can do very little. I was told the problem is with the tubes.
I'm to have a CT scan at Brompton next Wed and am anxious as to what will happen from then.
Having been fairly stable over last 12-13yrs and bouncing back from chest infections, it's not happening now.
What could be next step? Thanks all....

Welcome Janice. I can't help with your questions but someone will come along and know what they are talking about. These awful infections! I hope you can get it all sorted out. Lilian xxxxxx
It's so understandable to be worried. I have a lung function test on Tuesday and I'm afraid of seeing the results although I've told myself it's okay if it doesn't go too well. 😬
I too have trouble exhaling. I have air trapping and some hyperinflation. I have a disease of the small airways called Obliterative Bronchiolitis. This is basically the scarring or obliteration of the bronchioles. I am awaiting a lung transplant. Basically, there is nothing they can do for me.
However!! This may not be the case for you. 😊Please go to the Brompton with an open mind. I hear they are an excellent hospital with a marvellous respiratory team and you will be in very good care.
Good luck for Tuesday Cas - try to stay as calm as possible (I'm the same - I stress about the results as if I'm trying to pass an exam lol). Please let us know how you get on xxxx
Hello janice01, I can understand your concerns but try as hard as it is not to worry too much, because at the end of the day it might not be as bad as you think🤞welcome to our forum Janice, please let us know how you get on? 🌹🙂
Flu threw you back..sometimes we go through bad spells and it is difficult to pull through but you will. You will be in very good hands at the Brompton and they will sort you out.
Take good care of yourself and let us know how you got on xx
