Confused possible cancer?

Hi everyone in the past I have suffered with pneumonia, chest infections and asthma since I was a child so I'm pretty in tune with lung problems. Recently I woke up and was seriously ill, long story short ish. I was told by possible pleurisy/pneumonia but I had no cough or pain of pleurisy, I hadn't even had a tiny mucus crackle or a tickly cough. Ended up in a+e as I had reached bad to antibiotics but I didn't know at the time. Bloods were clear of infection and X-ray they said was clear, home I went quit the antibiotics, felt back to myself within48hrs. Hospital called back 6 days after, to say X-ray wasn't clear. I was shown the X-ray and it looks nothing like any form of infection or lung problem, there was a formed mass on the bronch tubes. Sent away with antibiotics and told to have an X-ray after finishing them, I did and the X-ray department refused to do another and said if it's an infection it won't show any change in X-ray for 4-6weeks????. Now everywhere I read it states that an infection will go within 7-10days . Nothing is making sense no cough no infection on blood test, I've had the antibiotics and don't feel any different I can still breath as good as I do for me. I've had no mucus at all. How can an infection show up on X-ray for 4-6weeks if it only takes 7-10 days to go with antibiotics!! I saw the X-ray it doesn't look like any infection of any kind it looks like cancer, I'm scared to death . How can I find out what this is? Anyone with experience on X-ray's? Is it true an infection can still show up-to 6 weeks later? How's it possible with no symptoms, surely the antibiotics remove the infection and thus not detected on X-ray???. Going out of my mind and the nhs are doing nothing to ease my concern or answer a single question. Why give antibiotics when my chest sounds clear, no symptoms yet they are going on an X-ray showing a mass

Please slow down a little and relax, your mind is racing away. Have your doctors ordered a PET/CT Scan?. Until then breathe easy and even then, a big chance any tumours at all will be benign.

They won't until I've had the next X-ray :(

I find it strange that the X-ray Department are overruling what the doctor(s) in A&E told you to do (I.e. get an X-ray when you finished the ABs.) I assume you were given the relevant paperwork by the doctor to take to the X-ray Department). If not and you can't reach the doctor who told you this in A&E then explain to your GP what you need and get him to write up the request for the X-ray. Good luck with everything.
