Hi

The emphasis as be on smoking cessation, as he considered trying e-cigs to help him break the habit, the fact he as gone cold turkey proves he can do it.

Obviously cold turkey isn't for him! There are lots of ways to stop smoking and the best thing he can do is make an appointment at his surgery to see a stop smoking nurse. There is also a very good quit site on here and they really helped me give up.

If you go to other communities then type in Quit the site will come up. x

Sob will only get worse and fairly quickly if he doesn't give them up.

My previous husband Bob died a disabling death of heart failure at the age of 73 because he returned to smoking when he had a severe COPD diagnosis. His struggle to breathe gave him a massively enlarged heart and peripheral vascular disease. His smoking also helped me get COPD from secondary smoke inhalation amongst other causes. When I saw how he went, I was determined at my own diagnosis to live as healthily as I can to make sure I don't go downhill the way he did.

Greetings

He just HAS to stop smoking. I stopped lots of times before I finally cracked it, but -- like most people here -- I did stop. I've spent a lot of time regretting the times I fell off the waggon and started again. I think you both have to do whatever it takes, to get him off the weed. Failing that, take out a huge life insurance policy on him...

The ALBUTIROL is that Ventolin? I am just asking as if I take Salbuterol which is Ventolin I am really SOB worse than if I don't take it. I ended up in hospital after the Dr giving me doses of it and then as my body reacted to it thought I was getting worse and put me on a BiPap machine. It was only after 24 hrs and them stopping the Ventolin after I kept telling them it was that causing it that everything went back to normal. Well as normal as it could be. I have COPD/ Emphysema
