I got my results yesterday and there is nothing wrong with my blood, which I am very happy about! Still doesn't help me know what is wrong though!
Today at college my back sensations felt as if I was being crushed so I was sent home as it made me breathless. I still can't get my deep breaths easily. I called the doctors for an appointment and they told me to go to the walk in center or A&E! Which I was very shocked about, as I have had this issue for 7 weeks now.
Anyways I went to the walk in centre and the nurse was the woman I saw just as I became ill! So she partially knew my issue. She did my check up and found nothing wrong, her suspicions are asthma. She was very annoyed that my doctors sent me to her but she didn't blame me as I was just doing as I was told. Therefore she called the doctors personally and told them to give me an appointment for tomorrow as I need a diagnosis!!
I still have my breathing test in 2 weeks and my appointment is tomorrow so hopefully I get to the bottom of this. Recently my back has gotten worse, but luckily it does come and go, but my inhalers have not helped at all when I need them, however I found that inhalers can be useless for some asthmatics so maybe that's why!!
And with a bit of research I think I am understanding the reality of myself having asthma as I do have very similar symptoms.
If you do have asthma Helena then you'll feel a lot better once it's under control with the right meds for you. The breathing test should help with a diagnosis . P
Jolly good on that nurse. I am glad she made them give you an appointment. I'm sorry it's so stressful at the moment. I really hope you get the right diagnosis very soon. In the mean time please do take it easy.
Your breathing test will give you the results you need. If it is asthma you'll get two inhalers a blue and a brown one, they'll go through it with you. Gentle exercise and then slowly increasing it helps as it strengthens the lungs. Lots of water and good eating always 5 a day.
I have acid reflux and the first pains I got with it were between my shoulders and also feeling breathless. After various tests it was confirmed to be reflux and not a lung problem which is what I thought it was at first.
Sorry you got the runaround as I call it, but all is progressing now and your blood test was normal so with good management you should get your illness under control with the right inhalers or drugs. Best Wishes for your appointment today and breathing test next week, do let us know how it all goes.
So glad your blood test came back clear, that's good news. However, I hope you get to the bottom of this ongoing problem very soon and get the treatment you need 🤞 please let us know the outcome? Take care of yourself Helena ✋️😊
So glad your blood results came back as fine....and I do understand your continued frustration at not getting any answers etc. You've done the right thing and been pro -active and that will have sped up any diagnosis. Let us know how u get on with your Doctor and wishing you all the best.
