Hi

For such a important piece of medical equipment, cheap is not always best.

Look at pinned post on right of page.Respiratory equipment for sale.

Also the following links for reconditioned units.

Hi, ive just purchased a inogen g4, had it since Wednesday. Was very expensive but for me so far worth every penny. I am on ambulatory oxygen but where i live in lincs i can only have the large canisters which i find very heavy. Although im told you can ask for a trolley to transport it. Personally i prefer the portable concentrater ive just bought as it goes over my shoulder like a handbag and i can just get on with whatever i want to do. I also keep check on my oxygen levels with a very good oxometer which i purchased from Amazon. Like i said this is my personal choice.

I bought my one from pure 02, they from Manchester but I was very cheeky I had a demonstration from inter medical and then haggled fir the best price of the unit I wanted. Pure 02 gave me more for my money

Why do you need to buy one ?

The NHS give you one for free if you need one for hypoxia.

If you don’t need one then please don’t buy one. If you don’t need one the over oxygenising can be dangerous.

Thank you for your reply. I am on oxygen therapy 24/7. I am actually using a static concentrator at home. My COPD has already reached Stage 4 at the present time.

HI there...

Won’t the NHS give you a portable concentrator ?

Have you asked your local oxygen supplier about giving you a portable comic ?

I have one and am on Ambulatory Oxygen only Stage 2 COPD with rubbish gas transfer and after using the machine only a few hours a day since August it has a fault and needs replacing which they are going to do today.

If I had bought the machine it would be a very expensive replacement !!!

I have a static concentrator and also an Invacare XPO2 portable concentrator. Both were prescribed by my respiratory Nurse and both were provided by the NHS.

I have a static concentrator, portable concentrator and 3 tanks of oxygen (weekly) that I can use with a trolly. Just recently my husband had to under go 2 major ops which meant a hour and a half journey each way to visit him I spoke to my respiratory nurse and they started supplying 6 tanks instead of 3 until hubby was home. Perhaps if you work out what you think you will need weekly to meet your commitments and then approach your respiratory nurse and explain why you need a portable one as well.

Good luck

Sue
