I was diagnosed with a tumour on my left lung which has appeared after a touch of pneumonia it showed up in my ct scan I have also had bronscopy and pet scan they said the tumour has appeared quite quickly and could be a result of my peuniomia I had xray in November and December and it wasn't there .it was only after peuniomia that it appeared I am a ex smoker is it possible that the tumour is a result of my peuniomia..i have to see the Doctors on Friday for my results..A worried man John.

hi mate there not a lot you can do at present but stay positive the waiting game is horrible Friday but there is a number of things hopping for good news for ya mate hang in there
Thanks for your reply..I guess I am hoping for someone to tell me something positive about Friday..
Is lung cancer painful.
Cullis there are no doctors on here. There is a pulmonary nurse on the helpline. Why not give them a ring tomorrow? The number is 03000 030 555 and they are there during office hours. The nurse obviously can't diagnose you over the phone but she will be able to answer a lot of your questions.
i hope and pray its not but think about it these days treatment has improved that much
and yes waiting is such a drag especially with such an important news that can affect your future stay strong. make sure you make a list of questions you may have is someone going to support you it may help
Hello John.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I know what waiting is like. Please know that not every tumour is cancerous. And since you've had pneumonia it could be stemming from that. Thinking of you for Friday and hoping for the best outcome possible.
Cas xx ๐ป
Hope it all goes well on Friday.
Difficult to say if cells were damaged at the time of the pneumonia as the bronchoscopy was done once the tumour appeared.
It looks like doctors are taking good care of you. You have had all the necessary tests.
Let us know how you are getting on x
I will let you know tomorrow here's hoping it is good news..x
Check out my news
Iโm sorry youโre having such a worrying time, John. As others have said, tumours in the lung are not always cancerous. My husband had a similar diagnosis after a bronchoscopy and a CT scan. It was removed via a rigid bronchoscopy under general anaesthetic, then tested. It turned out to be benign, thankfully. It had to be removed because it was blocking an airway, but in other positions in the lung, they are not always removed. Good luck and I hope things go well for you. Let us know, weโll be thinking of you.
Thanks for your response. I will let you know how I am getting on. ..
Difficult not to worry, but try to stay as calm and positive as you can till your appointment Friday. I had lung cancer in 2008; it was found early and surgically removed quickly. I never had any pain and am still in remission, so eternally grateful it was found early. Best of luck for Friday xx
Hi Cullis ,i know it's easier to say not to worry,it's not good if you worry,i shall be praying ๐ for you ,stay positive, please keep us all posted and hopefully you come away from the hospital with a big smile.๐
As a lung cancer sufferer I can tell you I have had no pain associated with it.
Hello Cullis, so sorry for your stressful news, but try to remain positive Cullis as it could hopefully be benign, ๐คeverything will turn good for you. Take care of yourself and good luck ๐น
Thanks stumpy I hope your right....
I'm praying that I am right Cullis, and hopefully you will treated and on the mend in no time ๐คtry not to worry too much, easier said than done I know but try to remember we are all here rooting for you. God Bless โ๏ธ๐
John--Try not to jump the gun and worry--I know that's easy said--but try--Go to the Dr Friday and see what they come up with--In the meantime put it on back burner --Half the things we worry about never happen--This could be one of them--The fact that it arrived with pneumonia means it could very well be because of that--Good luck and prayers--Mmet
