Yesterday I had a guy servicing my boiler who told me that he was ill with he says the winter sickness bug, I said to him do u mean the noro virus? He said yes, he saw me last week too. I mentioned to my manager of my residential/supported living place about it. I’m only just getting over a chest infection and my fellow residents are vulnerable to bugs also. Should this guy be working even if he says he had it over the weekend??

I have a question someone maybe able to answer
I can't really answer your question other than to say they always recommend you stay home when you are sick so you do not spread your germs to other people, so am not sure if he is still contagious or not but if he is still contagious would say he should not be around people in general but especially those that have health issues.
You should be OK. His being clear for 48 hours (and you are suggesting it was at the last weekend) means he should no longer be infectious. Read nhs.uk/conditions/norovirus/
Hi........I'm not certain but I doubt if he did have Noro virus ......
More like a bad meat pie.
My husband and I had Noro virus a couple of years ago .....it is really nasty . The effects are not something you get over in a few days..................
Jo.
Couldn't agree more Jo. I certainly won't forget the Norovirus I had in hospital. Absolutely awful and as you say, not something you're over in a couple of days. Sheila x
I agree. You wouldn't be working within a few days of it, it's a truly horrible thing to have.
Thank you all to clear it for me I know it’s not a nice thing the princess roy hospital goes down with it every season I read my local newshopper and they are not letting people who have had it go into the hospital. That includes visitors to th ward and you have to constantly wash your hands.
