He finished up the last of a trilogy of children's books, called Love the Earth, and had a signing event. Least I say, it was a struggle to get there. They told me to get there early because the event may sell out. I pleaded over the phone saying I was on oxygen and all and could he please sell me a book and wristband over the phone but no doing.
So I was there waiting for 5 hours...then once it was to begin one employee asked if I could go first for the photo, and the manager vetoed it. So another 45 minutes goes by and my E-tank is getting close to running out (I had another in the car, with my concentrator but it was a long walk to the car park). Finally, this one woman says this guy needs to go NOW! So up I go, tear off the nasal cannula, and as soon as Julian eyes me I said, "Hey Lenny" which brought a huge smile to his face. I did manage to tell him I saw The Beatles in 1966. Terrific man! I hope to meet him again.

Morning Jim, that is such a lovely story to wake up to this dark cold rainy morning. Your memorabilia grows, will you read the book.?. , or at least try, lol, when I read these days I'm nodding of very quick. I'm flying into Florida Saturday looking forward to warm sunshine and family. Enjoy your week, take it easy jane
Yes, Jane, I will read it. And Eileen, the Irish woman I met in Liverpool last December, sent the photo to Julia, John's half-sister. She sent back her regards! :).
Thank you so much, Hacienda. I refuse to be a shut-in. And I just got over the second encounter with a cold/flu virus thing. Just like the first one, increased mucus production, and it starts covering what little healthy alveoli cells we have left, making it almost impossible to exchange the CO2 and O2. I had to start using the oxygen mask because my nose was all stuffed up.
You're so right soulboy. And his singing voice is near exact to John's, with some critics saying his voice lacks the urgency and cynicism of his dad's voice. My favorite song of his is still "Too Late for Goodbyes".
What a great experience for you. great to see you dont let your illness stop you from doing things like this. How long did you get to spend with him? I think he is more like his Dad than Sean is in more ways than one. I am so jealous ha Ha ha regards Danielle from Australia
Thank you, Danielle. How much time did I spend with him? Just time enough for me to give him Paul's latest CD "Egypt Station" and say they've sent me a copy with every Macca concert ticket I've bought. Two photos were taken and that was it. I could feel his true philanthropy...out of all the "Beatle' children", with such big shoes to fill, I think Julian came closest. All the best regards, and keep singing!!! Even if you're off-key, it's a good exercise for our traumatized lungs. xxx. Jimmy
