Taking for a week, starting to have some side effects with it, tiredness and after I take it bit confused and groggy just not right really, you know when you just feel bit weird. So going to stop and just try stick with the Gaviscon advanced after meals and before bed. Seeing cons on 2nd Jan so I'll discuss it with her. Since Xmas eve been feeling very tired and weak, bad back pains (always have that but slightly worse than usual).
This bloody thing is so annoying very painful and so boring, no fun. Everyone has nice food and glass of bubbly and I'm having veggie soup and camomile tea!

Hi shancock, I cooked Christmas dinner for everyone , but couldn't eat it because I have had stitches in my mouth. I left them to it and sulked.
I was given Gaviscon Advance on repeat prescription and found it excellent, but it was changed to a cheaper generic which was awful.
I have made a batch of veggie soup and have frozen some, but didn't fancy using up the left over Brussels ....there is a limit to my waste not want not.....composted them instead.
Good luck with your consultant appointment, I have a visit to the dentist on the 2nd to see my mouth is healing.
Sorry to hear that as I also have tried it out this week, but decaf tea also my gerd symptoms have reduced ,I was on omeperazole before, can’t say I’ve noticed any side effects.
It hasn’t got a good reputation to say the truth..one doctor told me it was a remake of Omeprazole to make money but with more side effects..
Ask the GP for a change if you cannot cope with it x
I think they probably are to be honest, I took one last night none since, and won't be taking again. Yes have same probs I had with Omeprazole, feeling very tired and headaches and very out of sorts, a bit wierd and quite cold. These should clear up in few days they did after I stopped Omeprazole. I'm gonna stick with Gaviscon only now till I have the operation.
I've read some articles which advise all these PPI's (prazoles) may not be the best choice for those with osteoporosis and weakens bones with continued use. Whether this is true I don't really know, but as I try to avoid prescribed drugs, if possible, I've been taking Slippery Elm, which advises is good for heartburn and GERD symptoms.
Hi Shancock...I feel your pain...I'm in the same boat...its no fun at all...I stopped taking the Nexium, but the pain was so great I had to start again...for me its providing some relief...Thank you coz I hadn't even considered taking something else...coz currently the Nexium isn't even cutting it. Today is New Years Day, the first down here in Oz...so shops are closed...again thank you!! bottom line its plain old bad timing...I did the helicobacter breath test, but I don't get results until the 8th Jan...so have to put up with this a bit longer, however maybe gaviscon or zantac.....I think that's one too...I will BUY!!throw the lot down, yippee...no nice food, still!! lol!!One good thing....I'm having a good sleep!! lol!! and I think its the Nexium!! swings and roundabouts!!
All the very best to you and yours and to all here in health unlocked...HAPPY NEW YEAR ya al!!
