All seems to be going well

Had my biopsy yesterday , got home around 7pm. I had a few minor hiccups but all was very relaxed. Today I have the old cough back and a bit of mucus coming up to be expected as it was a lung Biopsy. If any problem have to go to A&E and the discharging DR will deal with it. Nice sunshine here today hope it is with everyone else. Saying there will be thunder storms tomorrow, then back to summer weather.Have a nice weekend all

Hi sassy59, thank you for reply. I am OK but all my muscles ache and my cough is back more frequent. Feel a bit drained today although I rested yesterday , think it is going to be a few days before I get my strength back. will need a taxi for Drs on Tuesday. Hopefully will be better by time results come., in around 7-10 days.

Afraid can't do the garden and its too hot for me to sit out . Gives the weeds chance to multiply good job I have some weed killer for the paved areas. There's a fair bit of cloud coming over now, here in the Midlands but still warm. Thanks for reply.

I went to far yesterday even though I tried to stay in shade. I ran Anne to a garden Centrer this morning andhad to come home, it was 25C at that stage and I felt ill. I was always used to high temps, no more it seems. Weeds won't flourish in very hot conditions, they need rain like other plants. Hope you get some cool, gone down to 22C here and supposed to fall.

Rain forecast for here later and tomorrow but only showers. My lungs don't like heat. Have a GP appointment tomorrow about tablets and so she can listen to my lungs. Have to go by taxi I think as I am a bit under par since Fridays hospital treatment. My first flower as opened on a new plant I bought so I am smiling. Keep the art coming we all like it.

I'm glad it all went smoothly. Hope there is no reason to go to A&E and that the results are helpful. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, especially if the temperature comes down enough to let us get outdoors.

Sorry to hear your Biopsy on your lung hit a problem Chrissca71, sadly it is a common side effect of probing in our lungs. I feel OK but my muscles feel so sore and my cough has come back more persistent but so far no major complication. Just trying to avoid getting any infection. So best wishes ,hope you are home again soon. I just wondered how long these wounds in our lungs take to heal up. I am not sure what a good result would be as it could be bilateral lung cancer and I have been advised I have a a cancer in the Kidney also. But at least once the biopsy comes along we may be able to consider whether treatment is worth pursuing as there are several options available if its straight forward. I have just had a second BCC removed and all clear but that's not quite the same. Hopefully in two weeks time we will both have some concrete results to consider. xx

Hopefully you won’t have any cause to go to A&E and the biopsy results will be good. I had a biopsy recently ( on my kidney ) it was a long job and like you I got home around 7. It does take it out of you but a few days rest should have you feeling better 😊 got everything crossed for you xx

Lovely to hear from someone else who is going through similar trauma . They have told me I have a cancer in my Kidney too , so may need a second Biopsy , who knows Next month I have appointment to commence physiotherapy to strengthen my lungs in case I need surgery in the end. Its all very much a wait and see process. And I only went with a pain in my side.

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply tokatieoxo60

The waiting’s the absolute worst part ,once you ve had all the tests and start on treatment it’s much easier . I can’t have surgery at this point because the affected kidney has bulged into and was blocking a nearby vein leading to my heart I was so poorly , exhausted and couldn’t breathe ( Gps put it down to grief as I’d lost my husband a few months before 🙄) so eventually I was put on targeted therapy in March and I can’t believe how well I’m feeling now ! The surgeon says if the tumour shrinks enough he can operate , the medical oncologist says I can’t be cured but can be kept stable and well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Everyone is different , they found a small mass on my sister in laws kidney two years ago ( checking for something else ) and only monitored it ( no treatment) until a couple of months ago when it had grown ; she had the kidney removed in a six hour op ( she’s 79 ) and was out on a bus ride to a nearby market with friends , having been given the all clear , six weeks later 🤷🏻‍♀️ Keep your chin up and don’t hesitate to pm me if I can help in any way 😊 love Val xx

katieoxo60 profile image
katieoxo60 in reply toThepainterswife

Thank you it as been such a fiasco for me, I was seen and told it was cancer and they would remove the Kidney , the size was given in a letter but not seeing the surgeon we saw till another four months, of course that was over a month ago so it would be early in July for the next visit. NO appointment as come yet. But what you have put in your post makes me more optimistic. Seeing GP tomorrow will have to get a taxi . Seems a long op but your mum is in a similar age group to me. Not being talked too and waiting is the worst . L could have a doubtful journey like yourself as I have high blood pressure etc. I will pm you later in the week as I would love to hear how you coped so soon after you lost your husband. Like you I am a widow have been for 20 years now my husband died of cancer too. But there are so many new treatments now so every best wish for a continued bettering of your health. Speak again soon. xx

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply tokatieoxo60

Try to stay positive , my sister in laws tumour was small when they found it then over two years it had grown to 4cm when they said nows the time to operate. Mine was 4cm when they found it but as I’ve said I can’t have the op because of the blockage in the vein , however the surgeon told me he doesn’t see that as a problem , he has operated on 7-8 cm They will know when it’s imperative to do the op or get you on treatment. I know how difficult the waiting and no contact is , it’s frightening and depressing, and mine was only eight weeks but they must be confident you’ll be ok till the appointment 😊 x Speak soon Val

katieoxo60 profile image
katieoxo60 in reply toThepainterswife

My Kidney one was stated as 3.45 cms I think, definitely over 3 at time of discovery. so maybe not as bad as could be and they could not do anything until they establish the bilateral lung lesions are not kidney spread. Its so confusing. I had a face cancer removed last summer but BCCs don't spread to other organs only very rarely. its just been a long year of health issues. xx

Thepainterswife in reply tokatieoxo60

I know , theres so much more to diagnosis and deciding on treatment than people imagine and it’s so tough being in limbo but whatever the outcome you will feel better once you know exactly what you’re dealing with and what the treatment will be I’ve had the most horrendous 12 month but for now I’m feeling great, taking a day at a time and loving life again 😊x

Thought I would tell you I just received a reply on a cancer site saying I am over thinking it. I was told I had three suspicious areas the pet scan more or less confirmed cancer in right lung and Kidney . The CT guided biopsy in the left lung is to decide whether that smaller area is cancerous or connected to the other two areas . Its a lot to take in for anyone. I am aware the biopsy I have had is risky for me and have still agreed so we can proceed . All my lungs have been aching since the biopsy and I was advised if any problem to go to A&E. But not to go to any other hospital only the one who did the Biopsy. I am not concerned but I do feel ill with all these different tests since January and still no proper discussion on treatment . I'm sure you understand I have been living with cancer as it is called since 1987 but to be told you have three at once is an emotional shock. Did you find it hard to take at first ? I better go and get some late lunch I am sure you have plenty to deal with yourself and your mum bye for now xx One day at a time is the motto.
