I've had a few people ask me before about taking Prednisolone . . . I was prescribed Montelukast (a different brand but the same thing). I can honestly say I had no side-effects and I'm not sure it actually did anything for my condition (Bronchiectasis with underlying Asthma) either. I haven't take Montelukast for over 2 years now. I hope someone else can offer you some ideas/suggestions etc. Happy Christmas.
Do you see a respiratory specialist, they would be able t help much more than GP. Careful with the Co Amoxiclav, have probiotics too, it caused me lots of problems when I had that one.
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes I've seen one consultant for my sinus and another for my chest. They have come up with most of the treatment. Managed to sleep last night without much interruption - first time in a while. thanks
Hi. I have asthma & nasal polyps. For sinus a have a steroid nasal spray - if your nasal med contain steroid then that's being taken care of. I'm not a doctor but I wouldn't recommend oral steroids, save them for if you have lung exacerbation or sinus infection.
You're already doing all the best things. I take & do recommend probiotics. I take 5-10 billion every day and 20 billion when poorly &/or if antibiotics are in my system. Drink plenty of clean fluids to keep secretions as moist as possible. P
