So Cold!!!

Hi,

I’m struggling a bit In this cold weather. I’m feeling the cold more, I’m not sure if this is due to age or my lung condition. I struggle more with the cold air. It takes my breath away! I’ve tried putting a scarf loosely around my mouth but then feel I can’t breath enough! If I’m In a warm place then step out into the cold it’s almost instant. Has anyone got any tips to help! ❄️ ⛄️

Many members find a buff better than a scarf. Have a look here:

Mountain Warehouse sell them as well. Don't give up if you find the first one is too tight, as they do vary between makes and material.

Hi I find the same! I was caught in hail yesterday and the reaction from my lungs was almost instant. I'll be looking up buffs too I think! Take care x

I like the Turtle Fur ones. You can get them from Ellis Brigham or Snow and Rock, or they can be bought online. Very cosy, but very light. XXX

I too use a scarf but use a cotton one and leave it loose around my nose and mouth with a gape of about a half inch to an inch that way I don't feel suffocated by it, and also with the barrier my outward breath helps to warm the air before breathing in - hope that helps xx

Thanks that’s a great help. I find it’s the breezy or windy days that effect me more! x

yes wind is a problem but I usually put it round short end one side long bit around the back of the head and then in front of face and over the other shoulder and hold it in place,, I have thought about pinning it but am never out long enough to bother. xx

I upgraded to leggings under jeans recently! And t-shirts as vests. There was a conversation on here about wearing hot water bottles too...though I'm not at that stage yet 😂😂
