Had my first good night since I got here..two days of physio and acupressure points helped.
I had such a stressful day yesterday as well with taking Mum to Darty for her birthday telly. I think we must have tested the lot apart from the one she bought of course, that she liked for the design of the feet.
I mean flat screens are not attractive for sure but I was worried about the low volume mainly. The sales assistant said you can buy her a Bluetooth speaker. I said Mum is 90, she has enough trouble with the remote if you think I am going to teach her about Bluetooth..
Then she asked for a discount, he said we could have free delivery if we bought the extra 3-year-guarantee, which she immediately accepted so I paid an extra 90€ on the telly!! How they con the elderly it is tragic. I didn’t want to argue with Mum, she was so chuffed thinking she made money out of them.
So that was that 😃
Today I am taking the day off 😉 I want to walk by the seaside, I will go to the bus station and see where the first bus takes me..

Hi Mel Sorry you are still unwell..let us know what the doctor said. Don’t let it linger sweetie..
Yes I am at Mum’s till the 27th. The 1st year I was diagnosed with LAM I was also in Hyères with a bronchitis I couldn’t get rid off despite several courses of antibiotics so the on call doctor referred me to Hervé in physiotherapy. We keep in touch so when I come over and I feel low I can pursue my treatment here, thanks to European health convention..
He is also trained in Chinese medicine. Today we did moxibustion at 8 am !
It balances the energies and helps me with pain. He said my kidneys were low this time. I’m not surprised with all the pred I swallow..
You keep your chin up! I am here for you xx

You will like the LAM forum I think Mel, yes having a rare disease can get lonely but I learned how take it one day at a time, if not you miss so much of life out there.
And if you feel down mentally it gets you physically. Low immune system, more infections..
Did I tell you that my specialist had told me I want you active all day? I don’t want you sitting around you must keep moving except your afternoon nap for which he allowed 20mns!!
I thought he is crazy I haven’t got the stamina but he was right..I started to feel better it was worth the effort..
Sounds like with the trial for a transplant you are given a second chance..Worth thinking about when you feel better.
Have a mad happy fran day in the middle of nobody knows where then get the last bus back with a nice bottle of wine and have a relaxing evening. So mums new telly is now officially christened as 'happy feet' lol x
Are those buses on the Cote D'Azur still really cheap ? In 2013 we went to Monacco from Nice and to St Paul de Vence, for about €3 each way. That year it had just gone up from €1 each way. You could go the whole way into Italy for that one basic price.
Of course they are crowded and getting a seat could be hard sometimes but it was definitely the best transport deal, I've got in a long time.
Sounds like you need a long day on your own with no demands on your time and energy. Great that you have access to physio while you're away.
Very cheap!! There is nobody at this time of year but a bus every 2 to 3 hours only. Still an easy ride. You can buy a pass for 10 rides for 12€. Hyères is a cheaper destination, for happy campers 😃 no sunbeds or parasols 🏖 here.
I followed your advice my dear Billiejean..terrible how I feel guilty though but I am going to stay put now I am in because I have another 8 am appointment tomorrow so I need to rest.
Today was better in terms of walking time then yesterday. The O2 assessment tests didn't happen either. Probably tomorrow. Glad to hear you're taking your own health needs into account. It really is amazing how difficult we find it to put ourselves first.
I am glad you are walking better..it is hard not to know when things are happening..always a problem in hospitals. Hope it happens tomorrow but I can see you are on the mend.💐
I am trying..yes it’s not easy, education I suppose..Anyway I managed it today, don’t know about tomorrow 😃
I know they really try to call an elderly people out of their money it makes me sick! But why didn't you say something? Cuz it's costing you 90 pounds? That's crazy they're not worth I never buy extended warranties because it's just a load of you know what. In the meantime you take care! Slow down girl, enjoy your stay... relax
She wouldn’t have understood..she was all chuffed it was her big day..thought she got a big deal I didn’t want to put her down..but I told the cashier when she was reckoning the bill. They have lost my custom. Still not like they care, a big name in France.
I love your photos. Makes me want to be back at my sisters house. We had thought of going for Christmas, but need to take Christmas to my mum this year. Maybe next year......
