Had a fun time at Florida seeing my brother and GG his wife. They ride in golf carts everywhere,it was fun! Its called" The Villages,"a huge plantation of homes, golf courses and towns within the Village, town shops, movie theaters, restaurants, pools, even hospitals and nursing homes. Who ever designed this place and owns it must be a multi billionaire. Visited Anna Marie Island for 2 days also, which was my favorite 2 days and eatting out at all great seafood restaurants. Glad my brother got me to beach but its good to be home. Very exhausted! !. Have to really rest up as thats when I get sicker. I hope everyone is doing well. Have a beautiful day. The sunshine state was very sunny and hot and humid,I sure can breathe better up North. Home sweet home. I do miss the serenity and beautiful Island in the Gulf of Mexico! Water was 81 degree or 83. Warm! My heater is trying to click on this morning! I'm not ready for that! Today throughout week warming up to 70's and sunny, its our nights getting colder darker sooner. Ugh! Enjoying my hot coffee. I hope and pray to get together with my brother again. The hurricanes did some damage everywhere, but things getting all cleaned up. Take care all. Miss the sea gulls and sea shells.
Home from FL.: Had a fun time at... - Lung Conditions C...
Home from FL.
Glad you had a great time Lin. Always good to be home. Tshe care xxx
Oh great lin so glad you enjoyed it and the place your brother and GG lives sounds awsome !! You sound much more upbeat than when i last spoke with you so glad your doing ok . X you take care love mel xxx
Yes Mel so much better. Very exhausted though. I thought about your lil boy idk if ya had chance to pick a spot for his make a wish trip. I start back up with drs next week and starting to get afraid again. But i know what needs to happen. I had high blood pressurd a few times in FL so i do have medicine for those occasions but it was under control. I think it was the very hot humid weather. My lungs hurt in the high altitudes too. So pulmonary doc 24th then cardio 25th. November is endocrinologist and my pcp who does nothing, but she at least does better than she did 4 yrs ago. Hard to find a good pcp. Primary Care Physician. How have you been? Hope doing well. I miss my brother and the beach but I missed my family here. I think we getting together today. Suppose to be a beautiful day! Xx
Hi lin not sure if your confusing me with someone else named mel as no make a wish ever mentioned not sure if that's another mel xxx I'm the first person really who started back and too e mailing.. you know the one with lam . Xxx
Oh yes sorry. I was trying to keep in touch at airports and occas at my brothers. I am sorry. Yes i know your lam and yes there is someone i was mixing up with on the histiocytosis site. Oops i dont know bout me Mel,just late flight and mind fog! I am straightened up now. Lol
The site for histiocytosis is very specific to pretty much all types of langerhans disease. Its so rare too so i do talk to people on there from all over world and the states. This site is uplifting and full of people who are writting and connecting. I like both but the other site with langerhans is kinda sad. Alot of children with it.
Got to call maintenance men,my heater wants to click on but wont blow out hot air. Just in case i am getting toxic in here, lol. I turned off. Its going up to 70. I will call them after i feel like them in my house. I though end of winterclast year it was breaking by the noise it makes! Oh well, there goes my peaceful day.. oh well. Lol welcome home!
Hi honey, so happy to hear that you had a lovely time and eating fresh fish, very healthy too. take it easy and lie back and relax with a nice book and chocolate,- or a HOT <<< LOL
the weather here is very stormy wind, could hardly sleep last night! you take care!
Lin sounds like you had a really good time and the sun and warmth will have done you the power of good.welcome back....................skis and scruffy x
I like their buggies made out as cars they once owned in the 50's and also the charging the have in parking spots.
Hi anthony, yes I liked them too! Florida is a fun place to go. I mostly like the gulf side but its such a narrow state a peninsula so you can watch the sun rise over the atlantic then watch it set in the gulf, its just lovely down there. I would not want to live there though, too humid of weather. And alot of things that you see there is for tourist. So i guess you can say wealthy or snow bird go there all the winter months to a place they own in florida or rent or with family, then prices, crowding into community's already crowded so the hustle bustle continues,it don't seem all laid back. You have to kinda search places out,and they are there but fewer and fewer. My brother moved to the Village 8 yrs ago I think and he said it's too congested and in 5 yrs they want to retire elsewhere possibly towards north but not as north as PA. I love PA. I appreciate FL beauty but no place like home. I want to go a few places again on the" bucket list" and I want to go back to where they took me a place called Anna Marie Island. Its so old FL invmanyvways and a few nice laid back beaches. Its near Sarasota Fl. I really like it there. Also want to see Colorado,in the summer as they get so much snow in fall winter and spring. Alot of California is burning away, its awful. So many homes gone people missing dead. I am glad i saw California in 70's. I never saw up north but did stay 1 month in Los Angeles area. We went on a bus took 3 days. And we flew home. It was pretty cool, but didn't get to see Grand Canyon areas and placex in Colorado. Dreams..idk if they will happen, but one can dream! Have a wonderful day.
Fantastic pic. Yes, my fellow Yank, I have a good friend from school days who performs with the Valerie Gillespie jazz band in the Villages. I flew there just to see them. Fantastic. Stay healthy and happy and free from the hated flu.
Thank you. I loved it at this little barrier island along the coast on gulf side. We watched a band one evening! Thats so cool you were there also! The Villages are huge and are going to continue to grow. I could never afford to live there. A great place if you can visit! But the Florida beaches are awesome! One of my favorite vacation area is the Gulf of Mexico. The water temp.was 82 degrees. I just loved it now just missing that ocean spot! Going to save up to go there again!
So glad you had a wonderful time in Florida, and arrived home safely. I have a friend who has a home in Florida, but wants to move to "The Villages", she says the people are just the friendliest people.
Meg
Yes everyone seems friendly there, but its very crowded. The people who dont mind that will be just fine. They have everything right there and you can travel everywhere on this extremely large property on golf carts. There's a seedy side too! Don't let the "retirement" community fool you. Its lovely but they b.s. my bro told him they were about done adding on and 5000 more i believe are in progress of building. I think he said their goal is to own and develop land all the way to miami? I had a pass to over 300 pools but only went to nearest one. I had a pass as a visitor. Golf courses everywhere. 1.5 hr from beach on gulf. And about 2 to the atlantic. Florida is where alot of people move too. It was too humid for me,I prefer the dry hot weather. Thankyou for you comment! Hope your friend enjoys yhe Villages xx
