Mild or severe COPD
I think you need to talk to your gp again. May be they have not got your medication right yet. Or you need to look at what is triggering your flare ups. All the best
Hi your level of copd is made primarily on the basis of your lung function and not how many flare ups you have. I think you need to see your doctor to get to the bottom of these.
Yes, this is correct, it is lung function that dictates the diagnosis of severity. You need to find out what has caused your flare-ups so that you can avoid whatever is causing/triggering them. It can be anything, aerosol sprays, smoke of any kind, strong perfumes, dust, cleaning fluids, air pollution, etc. You mentioned holidays, did that entail flying? Cabin air is recycled this includes other people's germs as well, catching a simple cold can trigger a flare-up.
Thanks for your replies, I saw my gp last week and he informed me he was attending a conference in Edinburgh about COPD. This could be a good thing to have a doctor in the practise who knows more about COPD. It also helps that the NHS has invested more funding in this area due to the increased diagnosis of this particular lung disease ( sorry if not the right words)
