Yes i can’t drink wine or any alcohol Think it’s mainly people who also have asthma that it causes problems

I have COPD and the only time I cannot drink wine is when taking medications that do not mix well with alcohol.

Hi

On a humorous note.

Quote.

Wine prior to bed.

A single glass at night could mean a peaceful, uninterrupted nights sleep.

NEW Wine for seniors,I kid you not...................

Clare Valley vintners in South Australia

which primarily produce Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines,

have developed a new hybryd grape that acts as ANTI-DIURETIC

It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to make to the bathroom during the night.

The new wine will be marketed as

......................................PINOT MORE

I heard it through the grapevine!!!

I just had to tell you!

I have COPD plus quite a selection of comorbidities, in my annual chronic diseases check up the question of alcohol came up I spoke honestly about what and how much I drank which in sum total comes to one unit a day or 7 a week this is not the rule but my doc said as long as I do not go over the limit he is ok he did encourage changing to a glass of white wine here and there, Tesco do small bottles of wine which is one glass serving and very nice white at that.

Anthony.i wish i had your discipline, when i told my consultant how much wine i drank he said don't worry about your severe Emphysema.liver failure will see you off before respiratory failure.

Lyne i think the answer to your question is a little of anything will do us no real harm but do seek advice from your Gp if you have concerns as we all react to alcohol differently..............regards and cheers skis and sober catx

there is discipline about skis it is like all o here we have a life to live and it is up to ourselves how we go about it, the cat is safe skis mine took a curious dip of her tongue in my G&T she retracted her tongue and by the look on her face I guess that will be the last tipple.

Personally I find red wine makes the cough worse, but never been told not to drink. I do not drink as it raises blood pressure and does not go with the painkillers I take.

Hi. I have never been advised not to drink alcohol with my Emphsema or Asthma. However, I do find that I suffer quite severe indigestion and reflux after drinking wine particularly, which tends to have an affect on my breathing. I am sure there is a link somewhere.

It is the preservatives sulphide that causes me the problem. Sulphide free alcohol is not a problem

Yes as an old wino, sad to say, I find wine has too much acidity now for me so drink an occasional beer now instead (one can lasts a whole evening) miss the wine though. Not sure that wine affects my breathing as such but with the danger of an acid reflux is an irritant and not worth the risk.

Dr. T asked me Yesterday at My Transplant Appointment if I drank , and how Much. I was Honest, 1 glass of Rose with lemonade with lunch most days...But, after the Long Journey there and Back Totalling 7 hours in all, I managed 2 glasses when I got home, did feel Tipsy though, my family laugh, getting tipsy on 2 wines...I felt so much Better.. Don't stop , Just enjoy it, in moderation xxxx
