Hi home girl, I used salt pipe in the early stages of COPD I was having very bad problems with the build up of mucus and was coughing it up all day it was very distressing, but using salt pipe helped thin it out and it was easier to expel, so in my opinion it helped quite a lot, was put on Carbocisitine tablets by my consultant and that solved the problem,but I still keep my salt pipe handy just in case I need it.

Been using my Salt Pipe for two Years now. I have been Taking Carbocisitine capsules for 5 years which does reduce the Phlegm/mucus. I have told my Consultant and Transplant Team that I use one. Hello Homegirl. Not all of us suffering Emphysema/COPD benefit from a salt pipe or saline nebuliser solution. In my case it actually reduced by 23% by lungs ability to function. Many other sufferers I know do benefit. What I m saying is please check with a Doctor or respiratory nurse how salt effects your condition before buying one.
