I've been on Spireva for about 2 years, my doc gave me an RX to try Seebri, by Novartis, because it's cheaper. However, I really disliked the powder form, because no matter what, there is powder left in your mouth, and you're left wondering how much got into your lungs. Never had that problem with Spireva & a tube for inhaling it. So I went back to Spireva, despite the cost. I will eventually use up the Seebri I have before it expires, but I really don't like it at all. I didn't notice any lessening or increase in my COPD, so effectiveness wasn't an issue. I guess it comes down to each individual.
