THE DOC CALLS AGAIN

Well had the doc out today noticed a raised rash in a cresent shape on my bum lucky for me being in a nursing home as the nurse first saw it yesterday this nurse was one of our mental health trained nurses but good at her job, she asked me if I minded if she got a medical nurse down (we have 3 floors) to take a look and get an opinion I am never one to bother about this approach to me always the sign of a good ersnu and this one is, so the following morning a doctor was called for, after the nurse told him why he was called and I indignantly dropped my pants and did a mooney he diagnosed the started a dose of shingles. Thankfully no oral antibiotics just a topical one in cream, ensured I had enough pain killers (as I had buphenorphine 20pu/24 patch and codiene or paracetomol for flare up pains.

One thing I must raise while in that region more where the sun does not shine is what I have had since January is in the sacral cleft I have a moisture lesion n ot quite a pressure sore but more in the making of one caused by many of us who are no longer active as they used to be. For this I am awaiting a plastic surgeon to pass his wisdom on how to close the lesion. So all of you try not to sit still in one place for too long.

Anthony,Hope your topical ab's kick in quickly,it is so good to hear of an establishment that looks after people so well, restores some faith in an otherwise much malinged industry such as care and nursing homes..........skis

Hi Anthony, shingles can be very painfull I do hope they caught it in time.

Nice to hear it's a good nursing home, makes a whole lot of difference when you can trust the people caring for you.

That brings back an uncomfortable memory or two😣😟. I had shingles in 'my undercarriage' several years ago, my doc recommended 'just' warm salt baths twice a day - for as long as it takes! No soap, bubble bath etc - just 15 - 20mins twice a day - and salt water! It took four and a half weeks and quite a few packs of salt but no itching or scarring and not 'too much' discomfort. Hope you'll soon be 'sitting comfortably' again.

Hope your better soon Anthony and nice to read something positive about a nursing home that,s getting as rare as rocking horse poo xx

we had a very bad period here when we were taken over by an Egyptian doctor( dr of what we never found out he never showed on a google search) anyway he just treat the place like a meat market as is the norm for these places now so after being made insolvent we were taken over by the bank who decided to run the place as a going concern under the guardian ship of four directors of whom all are fully trained in both Feilds of nursing and management and so we are a happy ship again.
