It kill me

Copd can kill you but not if you are in the earlier stages. Even in the later ones you can still live a long time with it. Mould won't help so you need to tackle this.

Hi

Mould is detrimental to any one with respitory problems. Arrange for the issue be resolved, in the mean time keep the room well ventilated.

Remove any cloth material which can be affected and wipe down and dry any furniture that as been affected.

If badly affected any carpet will probably have to removed and disposed of.

It is all over the home

Can i claim for the Mold if it makes me I'll have cpod

The Mold is bad all over the home i can send you some pictures

I do not know but bleach kills alot of molds,i do not suggest doing your self with copd but sometimes we have no choice. Did not finish reading all,but perhaps get professional help. It could be costly but your life worth that. I agree with lilac

Hi

Mould is usually caused by a damp environment which releases spores into the air. These spores are dangerous with anyone who has a respiratory condition, COPD, Asthma etc. and should not be breathed in. When cleaning the mould use a mask and open all windows to clear the air. You should buy yourself a dehumidifier which will help in clearing excess moisture. You need to find the cause of the mould and eliminate it ASAP. Airing the house daily by opening windows is good too.

Hope this helps.

mold not good for chest/lungs it needs to be sorted if only surface can someone wash it with bleach solution/paint again with you out for the day if possible. If rented property get onto landlord ASAP. Try to find out how the mold has formed is it lack of ventilation, damp walls etc?

Hi mould is bad for people with copd, sounds like you have little or no ventilation or have bad condensation problems. You really do need to get them sorted either by your landlord or a specialist contractor. A mixture of bleach & water should be used on structural surfaces and wash or remove fabrics that have been effected. Whilst this work is being done get yourself outside and away from it all.

Hello Hidden ,sorry its only a quick reply but if you are living in conditions where mould of any type is present, then it is serious. I eventually was moved from a house full of damp into a mould free flat. You must take steps to either move or remove the problem that's causing this mould.

Good luck and do come back and tell us how things are going for you.

Use vinegar in a spray bottle it will kill more bacteria on porous surfaces than bleach ... Goodluck u should get some helpers ( friends family) in there to help . I'm sure they would be willing to help .. Clean well please take care of this problem , to ignore it means more complications to your health . If u don't change this situation no one else will ..

Yep. Straight vinegar

Ok thanks. My sister who lives in the downstairs flat is suffering black mould due to a leak from my toilet and I wonder if white vinegar would be enough to not only clear it but keep it away. Would I have to dilute it or use it neat do you know please? Thanks.

Do not dilute the vinegar, if u prefer u can use a cloth to apply the vinegar instead of spray bottle. Apply to surface u might have to scrub the mild away to totally remove it . Leave vinegar to sit for about half an hour then rinse and wipe surface . Vinegar smell goes away in a few hours .

Please NEVER mix vinegar with bleach it is TOXIC

in reply toLady11

No I wouldn't but thanks for the warning. I know a guy who mixed 2/3 chemicals together and he ended up in hospital.

I doubt whether mould will cause copd but it will certainly make it worse.
