Quiery on Lung volume reduction

I have been told that l should have lung volume reduction op. Apparently it only lasts about 5 years. What happens after that ?

who ever told you that should be able to tell you what happens after 5 years!!!

I have not had the assesment done yet with the specialists who will be doing the op. I would obviously be asking them the question.... I just wanted to get feed back from patients that have had this op. While l realise no two people are the same ... I still would Like to gather information before the consultation

i was responding to , "that you have been told it only last for 5 years".

perhapps i should of just asked..who told you that it only last for 5 years.

I had the op in 2008, so that must be 9 years now. I am still holding my own and while not 100% fit I am probably better than I would be had I not had the operation.
