Well my dad's had chest infection for 2weeks he's bn on antibiotics and 8 steroids a day he can't sleep and still feels crap how do I help him .he's got copd emphysema osteoporosis ECT x he is tired of it all

Hi magsjamie, has your dad done a sputum sample so the GP knows what kind of infection he has? It sounds like a different antibiotic is needed.

Not sleeping is a common problem with steroids. A number of people find taking them in the morning helped with sleeping. I agree with Sassy your doctor needs to send a sputum specimen so that a targeted antibiotic can be used.
