Poem for Don

[Greenthorn]

Has anybody heard from Don?

I wonder if there's something wrong,

I can't bear to think he's gone,

Tho' he might be stringing us along.

Don has replied to my message and is ok but really feeling his age now. He’s virtually housebound but Smudge is keeping a close eye on him thank goodness. I don’t think he’s up to posting at the moment but who knows, maybe one day. I’ve told him to decide for himself and we’ll all be waiting.

Lovely to hear from you Don. You don't always need to rhyme. Whatever you write is always worth reading. You've helped me no end over the years and I'm sure others would say the same.

I've always loved your odes, of course, especially the twist at the end, but if the rhymes don't want to come at the moment, that's the way it is. If you fancy popping one on here now and again, I'd love to read it, but just to know you're ok is enough for now.

Don, we don't just love you for your rhymes! Although all of us appreciate them , I feel that sometimes some of us just associate you with them, which maybe puts pressure on you?
