Hello and welcome to the forum. You don't say whether the mucus is there all the time or if you have a chest infection at the moment which is causing it. Either way though it is unpleasant and tiring. Has the doctor given you anything to thin the mucus, carbocysteine perhaps? If not do ask about it. Drinking water helps to thin it too and makes it easier to bring up. Sleeping with the head of the bed raised or using extra pillows to prop you up can also help.
No not as far as I know
Hello Billy.
I'm sorry you have this irritating condition. I would say seeing a doctor and getting some tests done would be the best thing you can do. Sometimes something like pneumonia can occur with no fever and no really seemingly serious symptoms. Some people have it without knowing it. At any rate any lingering cough should be thoroughly investigated. I hope you feel better and get the help you need very soon.
Take care.
