Violent Coughing from a cold...

Can I have a collapse lung from too much coughing from a terrible cold? My chest hurts badly and my only guess is that the continuous- violent- coughiing (for 4days now) may have affected my lungs!

You may have a collapsed lung. Or you may have damaged your ribs. Or it may be some infection, pleurisy, pneumonia. Or a pulled muscle. Or something completely different. The only way to discover the true cause is to see a doctor.

Try to see your doctor however I know from experience it is quite difficult do you have a walk in centre or maybe A@e hope you get sorted out x

Thank you... there are a few walk in clinics here and open on Sundays. Will try one.
