Hi .Can anyone give me advice for these terrible night headaches they are constantly waking me up and are so bad I dare not move .I am sleeping on 3 or 4 pillows .I have very severe c.o.p.d and been border line for L.t.o.t since beginning of this year my gp has given me candesartan says it will help the heart push more oxygen round which I feel is helping me with the palpitations but not doing any thing for the headaches .my next appointment with consultant is November .respritory nurse has tried to push for a sooner rather than later appointment but no news yet .I just need to try and get a decent sleep .can you give me some how I can achieve this please .he has also prescribed lorazepam but I don't no if I should take it at night with the candesartan.thank you Jeanmol

Greetings

I was on ambulatory oxygen for a long time but when I said that I was waking every morning with a banging headache, I was put onto L-TOT straight away.

If you don't have enough oxygen, it will affect all your organs, including your brain. Sod the tablets: it sounds as though it's time for L-TOT. It's not the end of the world: just don't let anyone tread on your tubes :)

Cheers

Thanks catnip I really do feel it is time for L.t.o.t and gp agrees can't understand why he can't refer me back to consultant tho . Will just have to keep my fingers crossed and keep plenty of paracetamol handy .

I have read on this site that if you have COPD and are on oxygen and your oxygen flow level is higher than prescribed you can suffer from carbon dioxide retention which leads to headaches.
