I have pleurisy & need to fly from London to Sydney. Was in A& E, put on antibiotics & ibuprofen. Have a lung biopsy scheduled soon in Sydney as have been diagnosed with a bacterial infection that is unknown. Is it safe to fly back soon ?

Hi Loujes, I think that is a question you would need to ask the doctors.
I also had a bacterial infection in my right upper lobe 4 yrs ago. I was told I had lung cancer and no biopsy was done . The surgeon removed the lobe and pathologist said this is not cancer , so specimen was sent to Mayo Clinic. It was finally diagnosed as a Mai or Mac bacterium infection .I had even been put in isolation in hospital as they thought I may have had tuberculosis. Over 60% of lung nodules are calcium based and harmless. You can look these infections up on WebMD.com ..I never took any legal action against the doctors . Bill
