I used to give blood regularly but the rules changed about 15 (?) years ago and I could no longer donate because of the mad cow disease thing - I'd had two pints of blood after the birth of my first child!
These rules have been on the go for years. .....When you think about it ,,it makes sense.
Just as blood and blood products from the USA were restricted due their technique s in blood handling and HIV...........Not sure of new changes since my days in haematology.
Hi.......Over here we prepare every bag of b!ood as donated.....

Hello JeffAjaxSmith,,,,I knew there were certain medical conditions and some outside, trends that would prevent you for certain periods of time,,having ears pierced,,,tattoos,,,blood has only a certain shelf life,,,I do not know about sterilizing it though,,,life is so complicated these days,,,ttfn from karen.
I was a regular blood donor for many years. At each session more questions were added, dental treatment, tatoo, etc. and then countries / places visited,Chernobyl etc. After a trip to Brazil I was told I could never donate blood again. I never did find out why. Not sure I want to know
